has anyone ever had this happen, well here is how it happened to me. My wife was at a funeral and returning home with her sister. They took a wrong turn and got lost. She called me on my cell phone for help, while I was on the phone with her, my landline phone rang and to my surprise...the caller id said my name with my home phone number..weird.

I haven't had a land line in 6 or so years.

What happens if you send a text to a landline? Will it read it?

I change my caller ID name from time to time to confuse my parents. My favorite one has got to be "Cave Dweller"

No, most times you will get a " failure to send " notification or it will tell you " this number is a land line and unable to receive text messages".. Or at least that is what used to happen

Some carriers will now send them to a landline with a computer generated voice "reading" the text.
