Brady is in his 45 years old. Let that sink in. 45!
He has made countless millions of dollars and his (soon to be ex) wife is even richer than he is.
He is the undisputed GOAT, and has won every award and secured every accolade, both team and individual.
From the outside looking in, to keep playing in light of the above, sure looks selfish on Brady's part. Let football go. Go spend time with your family, for crying out loud, that has come second for so many years. We can only speculate why his marriage failed but it sure seems like un-retiring played a huge part in it.
It is arguably even more selfish of Brady to keep playing when you consider the very real risk of life altering injury that football possesses, and how that could impact his family life going forward. Imagine becoming a care-giver in your 40s because you husband played well past any reasonable age and sustained severe brain damage, becoming a quadriplegic?
Football is obviously Tom's passion and calling in life. He might argue it is selfish of his family to want him to quit. But when you consider there are plenty of non-player ways to stay involved the game, that argument loses steam, IMO. Any broadcast boot would take him in a heartbeat.
