Hope it was just a hyper extended knee. Looked pretty bad though.

From what I saw ........the left leg...... Knee & Ankle were damaged.... I would look for him to be placed on the Injured Reserve:palm: I would be surprised if there was another outcome here.:(

Kromer will just have to produce a present & future starting RG much earlier than planned. I wonder how far along his future starting RG plan was before this terrible event happen.

Well hopefully it's just a mild high ankle sprain. It didn't look like it rolled enough for a break but I'm not 300+ lbs coming down on a single ankle. eek.
I'm sure we'll hear something today/tomorrow.

The longer it takes to tell us might also indicate that phones are being worked and Les doesn't want to give up any of his negotiating leverage ...

"Yeah, we're hopeful on Austin, but just want to be doing our due diligence" as opposed to "Yeah, he's done. How far do I need to bend over to make a deal?"

Good news is that they say nothing about the knee so seems like just an ankle injury. I’d guess mri is to determine what grade of high ankle sprain he has. Can vary greatly.

When I saw it, it didn’t look that bad to me.

No knee involved. Ankle sprain didn’t look gruesome, I don’t think he completely tore any ligaments.

Also, sprain was rolling inward (low ankle sprain). Had it rolled outward, then it might’ve been the dreaded ‘high’ ankle sprain. But that’s not what happened.

2-3 weeks is my guess

He wasn't playing great before he went down from what I understand. Hopefully the staff has a rabbit to pull out of a hat here.

McVay, post game, only mentioned an ankle. Never said anything about a knee. I think talk about the knee is fake news!

Sean McVay credits Jamil Demby for stepping in against Saints

The Rams suffered a major blow to their offensive line during the second quarter of their Week 2 matchup with the Saints. Right guard Austin Blythe suffered a painful-looking ankle injury midway through the second quarter and did not return to the game. Second-year guard Jamil Demby took over at right guard.
Demby had a brutal 2019 preseason and has been underwhelming during his short career. It was a scary sight for Rams fans to see him trot onto the field in a crucial matchup with the Saints. Oddly enough, the world didn’t end, and Demby performed well enough to help the Rams defeat the Saints.

“He did a nice job,” Sean McVay said regarding Demby’s performance. “To be able to lose a player of Austin Blythe’s caliber, that’s a big loss for us. But he seamlessly stepped in. Until I really go back and look at the tape, but it seemed like he did a nice job just fitting in.”
It’s a nice vote of confidence for a guy who probably needed it. Demby has had a bizarre career up until this point. A sixth-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Demby played well in the 2018 preseason and earned a roster spot with the Rams. He was cut after Week 1 and was claimed on waivers by the Lions, who cut him a week later and signed him to their practice squad. The Rams re-signed Demby off of Detroit’s practice squad late in the 2018 season, and he’s remained with the team since.

Demby was one of the most disappointing players on the team this preseason. He basically made the team by default, as the Rams had no better options on the offensive line. It was a frightening site for Rams fans when he checked into the game on Sunday.
The second-year guard had a quiet game against New Orleans. For an offensive lineman, that’s typically a compliment.
“It really was a great job by Jamil stepping in,” McVay added. “I’m excited to really look closely at it to see how he did snap in and snap out.”
If Blythe isn’t ready to go against the Browns next Sunday, Demby will be in line to make his first career start in primetime action.

The faster Blythe comes back the better. Rams need to keep the depth. What if Demby keeps the job? Working at one position we will get a better idea what Demby can do when is is not moving around the line. You never know.

Sounds like 2-4 weeks if he is lucky.
