It is amazing how fast guys seem to want to trade a guy based on a guy we haven't even seen prove himself. It's an old adage but it is a smart one. If it aint broke don't fix it.

My guess is that McVay has been searching for this type of running back tandem ever since he wore out Gurley. He will not be looking to make room for Hunter. Hunter will have to break the door down to get on the field.

Nothing against KW, but if Corum is coming on, he has earned a few more carries. Might be good for KW to not get beaten up carrying the majority of the load.

I see no reason to change anything. This works.

In general, I agree. But if you take that philosophy, you might miss out on something that's an upgrade. I'm not saying that's the case here, but Corum has earned more playing time, sort of like how other teams split series with running backs

They both look fresh and are playing at an elite level. The amount of times that they each make a defender miss in the hole is amazing and a pleasure to watch. If you could clone Stafford you would. Looking at how they play, their stats, their attitude, their stature, and team first mentality, we have done the impossible and created some “weird science”. This clone attack can power us to a championship so let’s not get too cute. Keep pounding it!

Great pairing.. just different enough to throw off a defense, imo...

I've been very much looking forward to more Corum and him figuring it out.. fun to see it happen. Adds a critical explosive element to the offense.

They spent a 3rd on him and won't get that back if he's used as a trade up piece.

I think he has MUCH more value on the team helping us compete for SBs. Since his contract is low, and it's early in the contract, there is literally zero reason to consider trading him.
Ding! Ding! Ding!

Why do some fans insist on playing Kiper/Madden with our roster? It's fucking laughable!

What's fascinating is that Corum is like a clone of Williams - just a bit faster now that he's had some time to recover from the grind of all those carries at Michigan (and Williams better pass blocker and pass catcher).

A lot of teams look for a 1-2 punch where the other RB can provide something different like a guy who can make stuff happen behind the line of scrimmage or in the hole instead of one cutting it or a speed element - I don't think Corum's speed is such that it really doesn't provide that much difference with Williams - or even a superior pass catching element.

Instead, McVay has leaned into a clone where the plays don't have to change (duo and outside zone run equally with both these guys) at all no matter which one of them is in there and it allows him to dress up other aspects of the offense to catch the opposition off guard with play-action, keeping the tells of what's coming away from the defense when a different back is in where you might have to call plays specifically for their strengths.

Kyren being the far outlier on the least amount of stuffed runs is exactly what I've been trying to articulate about where his value lies. The ultimate consistent grinder. Mix in Corum's explosiveness in a 60/40 split and you keep everybody fresh and the run game dynamic.
Kyren has been more explosive than in years past. He was always Mr reliable but the committee approach has been good for him too.

Not only that but even the announcers constantly get them mixed up. Almost same number, and very similar stature and running style.
