Best sports journalist on the planet and its not even close. Doesn't help himself with his homerism but his research and diligence are great and then he packages that with great storytelling. MMQB is the only thing every week that I'd say is 'must read'.

Not everyone agrees with me but that's ok. Personally, I prefer his style to the 100 character Twitter 'journalism' that Schefter et al are peddling.

Well good thing I deleted everything PFT related from social media and my phone.

Gregg Easterbrook is ranked higher in my book. His problemis that he is too brutally honest and can't keep a job.

Well add to that the majority of the national writers are too cynical and smug to be taken seriously. At least the FOX guys seem like people you can talk about pros and cons about teams at the bar or something.

Peter King is King Peter.
A blovating, putrid turd who should be moving rocks in a labor camp somewhere.

Fearsome really made me LAUGH out LOUD......

I like King too....I remember him when I read Sports Illustrated weekly....my mom made me trash everything about 30 years ago....when I was moving and I wanted to keep them at her house...

dude describes the game...the people...the...everything...like many but also like no one....I grew up reading Jim Murray....LA Times....that's King...just like Howard Cossell...we're gonna miss him when he's gone.

I prefer the crew at Real Sports on HBO, but I agree that he’s good at his job. The homerism is an issue to be sure.

Jeez, from the thread title I thought Tom Brady finally proposed to PK

When he reached a certain point of success, King became less and less likable for me. Once all of the humility is gone, writers tend to interject too much of themselves in the product. They forget that the main reason people pay attention to them, is because of their topic and style. I don't want to know about the cigars he liikes, the whiskey he drinks, or that he has naked pictures of Tom Brady hanging all over his room.

It reminds me of the Dan Patrick show, or the Rich Eisen show. I really liked those two a lot, years ago. But now they are too full of themselves. Their shows are hard to watch because they seem to be more about them than the guests. And to me they are okay, but I want more serious sports info and interviews.
