First - I really like the U of Minn stadium. Nice venue to watch a game, but obviously too small for NFL.

Second - not having both starting DEs really shows. Our DL looked fairly pedestrian against an average OL.

Third - Foles is not the long term answer at QB. He is way too inconsistent. He missed several wide open receivers and it was not caused by pressure. He just flat threw some ugly passes.

Fourth - I'm beginning to feel the same way about Zuerlein.

Fifth - OL. Non existent today. Not a positive grade on the day for any of them.

All for now. We let this one get away.

GZ is a FA this year and his constant misses will have us looking elsewhere I'm very sad to say. Yes he hit a 61 yarder but when a coach is afraid he will miss an XP if Fisher is still here and FA $$$ WILL BE TIGHT in resigning all that we can for Fishers "D" next season. I won't miss the short misses to balance a random long one made. I am glad we fixed our FG blocking for one game though.

Donnal at OLG was the biggest nightmare to EVER getting a hole for Gurley to run through. Thats why running TGII up the middle after the first 10 no gains as Donnal could'nt block shit. Worst OL performance by RAMS this year. Even made G. Rob. look good when we need a while to get another OL lineup together if Havenstein and an achilles should probably get surgery now . At least get a 2nd opinion from the suck ass Rams DR's who have ruined many a career. Shame. We had just started to gel . Now J. Brown started going backwards and Donnals play affected Barnes blocking stud NT alone too much to handle alone. They were doubling Donald every play on there side. We have major issues now.

If injuries to our Pro Bowlers keep up lets get our youth some reps. They will be playin next year. Injuries happen. Thought we missed a few tackles today more than we have lately.

GZ was the least of our problems today

Didn't say he was the problem in the game. I said I'm beginning to feel the same about him as Foles - that he isn't the long term answer. He has the worst FG percentage in the league at the moment. His percentage has been going down every year. It is an area where we can improve.

I would take GZ back - but I wouldnt be happy if we were paying him as anything more than a run of the mill kicker.

Not everyone can kick 63 yarders, but I can think of a dozen other kickers who I would rather have out there with the game on the line from 35 yards out.

The day after he made a 61 yard FG?

I love yelling 'GZ' at my TV, but that's 21 points... OK.. let's be fair.... how about 12 more points from him. Spread that around and that's wins against Pitt and Minn.
But I really do love yelling 'GZ' at my TV

Yes. He is inconsistent. Heck of a leg, but you don't always know where it is going. Easier to make decisions when you have consistency.

Two kickers in the history of the NFL have hit multiple 60+ yarders and Rams fans want to burn one at the stake for missing one of his five attempts yesterday.

No interest in burning him at the stake. Merely pointing out a area of concern. I was there. That 61 yarder was a thing of beauty. Now consider this - only one kicker has missed more FGs between 30 and 49 yards this season. What is more important. A guy who nails all of the kicks under 50 yards or a guy who makes the rare 60+ FG?

I think it's a valid observation. I'm on the fence. And I'm talking about body of work, not this single game.

How many teams are kicking as many from as far as he is? Keep in mind that 2 have been blocked already. When you look at the misses, it isn't as bad as you guys make it sound

Blocked from 50
Missed from 53
Missed from 63
Missed from 63
Missed from 35
Blocked from 40
Missed from 48

They need more TDs, not FGs. Bottom line.

Go back and look at his missed field goals. If I remember correctly, only 1 of them was a gimme. He had 2 blocked field goals (not his fault), he missed 2 well beyond 50 yards (wasn't one of them over 60?), and then the 48 yarder yesterday where the wind affected it. No, he's not the problem. Now if he starts missing extra points and 20 to 40 yard kicks consistently, then I will have a problem with him.

And there it is. Only 1 legit miss (35 yarder) as the wind took his 48 yard field goal attempt. To say he's just 13-20 is lazy, and anyone who has watched every Rams game this season should know this. Perspective, people.

Perspective, IMO, is only attempting kicks that you expect to make, unless we are talking about end of game, or half, situations, that we didn't posture for.

My gut was, that we would play for the FG, and lose. I hate feeling that way.
