Holt will be there to teach them a few things during the next few months as well... Bailey should try to model himself after Bruce, and he'll have a great career.

Bruce looks like he could still suit up and play. He does a good job of keeping himself in shape.

Looks like it - doesn't it. That'd be one heck of a mentor for these guys.

Of course, and no Brian Quick the guy that should be listening to Ike the most.

Great to see. His retirement speech really verified for me that he could really help this team in some kind of mentor or coach role. He is what you want all of these young guys to become.

I expected this. Isaac and Torry show up every training camp.

Isaac is the Man as he had one of the most complete games as a WR. He knew how to sell his routes (i.e., fool defenders into thinking he was the #1 option when he wasn't). Like Gale Sayers, Barry Sanders, and now Tavon Austin, Isaac could make 90-degree cuts at full speed, thereby gaining instant separation for easy completions. Isaac took great pride in blocking---his personal record was fourteen! pancake blocks in a single game!!! Isaac is one of those guys who was said to "carry his pads well," which is scout-speak for a guy who's speed in full football armament is almost as fast as his speed in track shorts. (Jerry Rice had this same quality, which is why he could outrun 'faster' defenders who were weighed down by their gear because they lacked Jerry's supreme conditioning.) Finally, Isaac has been described by a scout of terrifying DB's with his ability to 'glide,' which is scout talk for a guy who runs so smoothly and effortlessly that it is virtually impossible for the opposing DB to tell how fast he's moving as he is coming straight at them.

(Can you tell I am a huge! Isaac fan? )

Both Tavon and Sted need to glean as much as they can from this living, breathing storehouse of pro WR knowledge, even if Isaac has to employ the Vulcan Mind Touch to make sure the transfer is 100% complete. In fact, all the WR's, TE's, and RB's need to listen to Master Isaac if they want to gain great insight into how a Hall of Fame professional approaches his craft.

Given all of Isaac's attributes, Torry still had the better pure hands. I have vivid mental pictures of Torry making one-handed catches behind his back in pre-game warm-ups. Torry benefited fully from having seasoned pros like Isaac and Ricky Proehl with him his rookie year. In fact, Fish's open door policy with retired Rams veterans allows superb opportunities to turn Rams Park into a veritable football university.

Good to be here.

I wonder if Bruce taught them the dive instead of taking kill shots. I know the diving aggravated some fans, but I think it allowed both Bruce and Holt to play longer.

It's possible, but I think Austin will be one of the few who won't need to use that move. :nau:
