They haven't gotten lucky on their picks while also picking late. It sounds like Mahomes is going to eat up a lot of their money even more so next year while not really having anyone worth trading for.

They've attempted to get half ass weapons for Mahomes that they keep missing on top of their rivals getting stronger. They had a lot of luck last year with calls and barely squeaking by teams. Everyone was noticing.

We know how Spags is from experience, something tells me if Reid keeps Spags around I am not sure if he's willing to change (See Belichick). If Mahomes stays and eventually Kelce retires...who the hell are they throwing to that isn't going to get them from sitting around .500 if they continue course?

They're absolutely not done. The AFC has a lot of terrible teams, and Herbert's now hurt. They just won't make it in as a division winner.

The Kansas City Chiefs had an incredibly dominant 11-0 record in one-score games during the 2024 season (including playoffs), but that flipped dramatically in 2025, as they started 0-5 in close contests, losing several by eight points or less, before finally securing a one-score win in Week 12 to move to 1-6 in such games by early December 2025.

Big difference.

The Chiefs had 3 of their starting lineman out and on the first play of the game, the sub LT was injured and lost for the game. I don't know any team that survived that type of attrition even if they have Creed Humphrey at C. :sunglasses:

Andy Reid has shuffled OL over the years. Their first SB win season had Cameron Irving at LT, Andrew Wylie at LG, Austin Reiter at C, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif at RG and Mitchell Schwartz at RT. Creed Humphrey, Joe Thuney and Trey Smith came aboard in 2021 and were solid from 2021-2024. Jawan Taylor has been there since 2023. Thuney is gone and the rookie LT (Simmons was on IR after 8 games). Injuries happen and when they happen to one position group, it can be devastating. Rams fans know about that from 2019 and 2022.
