or the three ships that brought the first settlers to Jamestown ?

they claim there are about 10 million Americans today who are ancestors of those original 100 passengers on the Mayflower

that just seems crazy to me

obviously it will depend more on where you live

if you live on the East Coast , you are probably have a higher chance then say those who are from El Paso Texas

or like Pocahontas , even though her and Thomas Rolfe had only one son , it's said that there are now 100,000 Americans that are her descendants

again , a number that seems crazy to me

but just remember , the next time you're watching Pocahontas on Disney Plus ,

remember Pocahontas is Nancy Reagan Great X10 Grandmother..............lol

so was Edith Wilson , wife of President Woodrow Wilson'

Never really paid attention to ancestry. I know I'm a mutt when it comes to genetics, and I'm proud of it.

I had some ancestors that fled Salzburg from religious persecution around 1700. They fled to Amsterdam, bought two ships, and sailed several families to New York. Ended up being the first whites to settle across the Appalachians. Had to sue the King of England to get land grants he was promised. His name was Jost Hite. Kinda balsy for the day. Had another ancestor write a book about it. The book is “ Long Meadows” by Minnie Hite Moody.

Dads side were Hessians that beat a path to Prince Edward Island after the Revolution and Moms side were Scotch/Irish immigrants from way back.

My Mom's direct ancestor was John Hall of Middleton, one of the 100 founders of Hartford Connecticut. I believe he and his sons arrived in Boston about 1625. Good Puritans and killers of Pequots!

My mom's family fled from the filthy communists (pardon the redundancy) in East Germany and came over in '59.

My dad's great grandpa was given passage by the British (meaning he was a troublemaker they just wanted to get rid of ... I mean, he was Scottish and Irish, so it was kind of genetic). That was sometime in the 2nd half of the 1800s.

According to the Warden's (wife) Grandmother, her ancestors came over on the Mayflower and Miles Standish officiated their wedding...

Not sure on when ancestors crossed the ocean but they were with the original Lewis & Clark expedition up to St. Louis but stayed there and didn't go on the actual expedition. Ended up being one of the original settlers of the area north east of St. Louis on the Illinois side of the river.
