American Flag Football League

$1MM to the winning team.

I watched some highlights in recent days. It’s pretty quality stuff, IMO. Solid former players in the league.

USFL had it right, Summertime football and I can remember watching some of those games as because Chet Simmons was their Commissioner and had been with ESPN, their games were televised and some of them were very good. I rooted for the Chicago Blitz & Arizona Wranglers back then because George Herbert Allen was their Head Coach. Not going to post what or who ruined the USFL because it could get political.

Jimmy Clausen still sucks lol

Jimmy Clausen, Jimmy Olsen, Jimmy Carter, sometimes it's just tough when you go by "Jimmy" unless you're Jimmy Dean, however, some would debate that Jimmy Dean has been the silent killer for years.

Now that's debatable, Connors seemed like a jerk until John McEnroe although both of them paled in comparison to Björn Rune Borg IMHO.
I thought Borg was the best I ever saw play tennis, and certainly the most dominating. I was a huge tennis fan in the 70’s

He was the best I've seen play on grass courts. But when power rackets became the new thing his time was done, which is why he retired so early.

Yep. I played tennis four or five days a week in the mid to late 70s and wore my hair as much like Borg as my dad would allow. I loved watching Borg play because it was all about tennis.

Not many people knew at least at the time that Borg was a lot like McEnroe and Conners when he was young but his dad took his racket away from him until he figured out how to “act like a gentleman”.

Yeah. Back to the AFFL, it’s actually pretty entertaining but I tend to think of it as the frisbee version of golf. Both entertaining and fun to play but just not the same as their parent games.

I think it was Borg that once put so much backspin on a ball that it bounced backwards.

I was not even mildly interested in tennis but I recall when growing up people who were talking about how great he was.

Id rather watch the LPGA. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Yep or women's tennis, beach volleyball, etc. Can't get into flag football; for me without the hitting football isn't the same. When the NFL finally takes those steps to become a flag league (which is comin) I'll be moved on. As I've mentioned before I used to watch any NFL game and enjoy it, but now I just watch the Rams.

As sports go I think the NHL Is the best product on tv right now. I watch a lot more their games, any that are on tv really, and enjoy it. And MLS is pretty good too tbh. After that, yeah, bring on women's sports where they're showin some leg. I know, I'm a pig.

I loved the USFL too. Hated the Baltimore/Philadelphia Stars with Jim Mora. Chuck Fusina was their QB.
Arizona Wranglers had Greg Landry at QB I think
