My understanding is that the wage scale limits the amount of money that can be spent on the total value of rookie contracts, including bonuses, over the term of these contracts (“total rookie compensation” pool - total amount of money team can spend on rookies over their four/five season contracts). Anyone know what this amount is this year?
I also understand that the Year-1 Rookie Compensation Pool has a cap and a floor (the amount of money each team can spend on 1st yr salary for every player taken in the Draft). Anyone know these numbers?
Lastly, The “Year-One Formula Allotment” assigns an approximate year-1 compensation value on every pick in the draft. I guess teams use this as a guide on how much to pay rookies for their rookie seasons. Anyone know where I might find this years formula?
I found some more general info about the operating rules at B&M Mgmt, but not numbers for 2013.
