EW YORK -- It's official: Lady Gaga will headline the Super Bowl halftime show next year.

The NFL and Pepsi announced Thursday that the pop star will take the stage on Feb. 5, 2017, for the Pepsi Zero Sugar Super Bowl LI Halftime Show at NRG Stadium in Houston, airing on Fox.

Gaga sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl earlier this year in Santa Clara, California. Beyonce, Bruno Mars and Coldplay headlined the halftime show.

Gaga will release a new album, "Joanne," on Oct. 21. The Grammy winner's hits include "Poker Face," "Bad Romance," "Born This Way" and "Applause."

Maybe when they sell out and start peddling Crystal Pepsi.

Doubt that is happening, but I once did crystal meth with Jeff Hanneman of Slayer who later died of a flesh eating disease and alcohol-related cirrhosis of the liver. So there is that.

There's a feel good story for ya.

I met Kerry King once, but we didn't set up a heroine play-date or anything.

Supposedly from a spider bite while sitting in a hot tub. Didn't know spiders could survive in water that hot.

You wanna know something cool? The Super Bowl will be only about 30 miles away from where I'll be living at in February! And I still won't watch the halftime show!

Worst show I have ever paid money to see.

I've seen 'em a few times, never as like the headliner though. They are a good appetizer, but would leave me unsatisfied as the main course, kinda like weed.

Speaking of crappy metal acts, I saw Zakk Sabbath open for Clutch Wednesday night.

Zakk Wylde = fake biker douche homo.

Clutch = professional rock and roll.

The funny with Zakk to me is his speaking voice sounds just like Peter Griffin from Family Guy.
Good guitar player, but, the whole thing....trying so hard to look like hard core rocker guy....gotta be an hour prep to run to the store.
In fairness to Slayer I saw them in their first tour way, way back in a little movie theatre in Pismo Beach, Ca. They were not too concerned with being rock stars then, just hammered and not playing well. To the point of having to start songs over several times because someone would forget what they were playing. Just young guys who were partying. A contingent of Hells Angels showed up and I still remember it being a super violent show. So, that was entertaining I suppose. Trouble opened up (a doom band from way back) and they were good.
I was just a middle schooler and lied about going to my folks. Said me and my buddies were going to the movies then staying at ones house. Went to the show instead and was given several beers by the Hells Angels. Good times.
