alright fellas. let us discuss Amazon Prime and it's 2 Day shipping feature. i apologize in advance for my rant.
for those of you who don't use, haven't used or refuse to use Amazon Prime, as part of your benefits, you get free 2 day shipping on Prime Eligible items.
when you're viewing an item that's Prime Eligible, it displays a ticker that says if you order within the next xxx hours, xxx minutes, xxx seconds, you'll get your item on xxx day with your Prime Subscription. this is a GUARANTEED date of delivery. it even says so before you click "Place Order" to finalize your order.
sounds pretty straight forward right? well, it isn't. i've just contacted Amazon regarding this so-called Guarantee and their failure to come through. this isn't the first time either. to sum up the first experience, Amazon's customer service basically said "tough shit. let us know if you get it tomorrow."
i wasn't about to let them off the hook this time. i called, explained to them what my understanding of a "guarantee" was and how i had met my obligations as a customer by ordering by xxx time. now, it's 7:50 at the time i'm writing this post and they guaranteed the package to be here by 8:00. this was their argument. my package still had 20 minutes (at the time of the call) to be delivered and they can't do a damn thing to help me until after then. my package is approximately 500 miles away....unless they have some sort of teleportation i'm unaware of, it isn't getting here today. they then said it was an expected date which i had to correct them on. then when all else failed they argued that when it leaves their warehouse with the carrier, they can't account for "unforeseen circumstances."
after talking to the rep for 10 minutes about this, she basically says "i'll give you a free month of prime when the system allows me. i'll send you an e-mail when i do." so, i basically get a free month of a service i'm already paying for (if she actually follows-up) but i don't get my daughter's birthday package on time. this is such horseshit.
