Last week, Lions coach Jim Caldwell defended the decision to use the 10th pick in the 2014 draft on tight end Eric Ebron and not on defensive tackle Aaron Donald.

Caldwell may feel differently after facing Donald.

The former Pitt standout, possibly motivated by the mere suggestion that Ebron was more worthy at a time when Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley were a year away from leaving, played well enough against Caldwell’s Lions to become the NFC defensive player of the week.

Donald, who had three sacks on Sunday and now has 11 for the season, also won the award in Week One, against the Seahawks. He provides hope for a team that has plenty of great players — and that arguably is one competent quarterback away from becoming a serious contender in the conference.

Good. Well deserved.

And a heart, FU to Peter King, who didn't even mention AD in his MMQB column.

Aaron Donald deserved it! :bow:I would sure look to get AD moved around even more but he sure owned the interior OL of the Lions. The Rams having big issues getting pressure from our DE's Sims, Long & Hayes.

This could be the reason we saw the Ram Org. upgrade DT Louis Tricant-Pasat to be teamed with DT's Fairley & Brockers leaving DT Donald to move around & terrorizes the Buc's rookie OLT Donovan Smith. Nick Fairley has been on fire this later half of this season.

Nick Fairley has proved to be very stout in the run game & continues to get pressure up the middle too. I sure like what I have seen from him as of late. If Fairley & Tricant-Pasat can do a good job @ the Aaron Donald post then our opponents will have no ideal what OL post will get hit with the best DL in the NFL!

Could be possible insight to what Gregg Williams may be cooking up for his 2016 DL (if he returns).
