A QB Thread Unlike Any You've Seen...

I'm not talking about the best QB or the worst QB the Rams have had in its long history, because the subject of the thread is which QB have we dumped that we regretted? Either through great play with their next team or for some other reason....AND, Kurt Warner can't be a choice because that's too easy, you Warner honks! Also, no Jared Goff because we don't know what he will do yet in Detroit. Here are some ideas:

Roman Gabriel
Ron Jaworski
John Hadl
Vince Ferragamo
Pat Haden (for you den...lol)
Case Keenum
Nick Foles, Super Bowl Champion

My choice is Ron Jaworski due to opportunity. He was a really good QB that was over 6 ft tall in his prime when we had a great defense and running game. We had a chance to beat those other Super Bowl teams if he had better quarterbacking in 1977,1978 and who knows if Ferragamo beats him out in 1979....

Marc Bulger. He ended up shell shocked and with happy feet from getting hammered so much. He had potential. Bad OL cut his career short.

The only one Ive regretted was Warner. So I'll skirt your rules. Unless you count that one game Tony banks had in Baltimore with 4 TDS and no INTS for 3xx yards? But we had Warner then.

Everett was the first Rams QB I remember, and while I regretted letting him go, I dont remember him doing much after. I thought we gave up on Bradford too quickly, but his post-rams career proved otherwise. I never thought Bulger had *it*. He was good enough. I didnt like paying Goff so much to ditch him, but I think Stafford is better. So....If we exclude Warner, Ive got..Tony Banks for about 3 weeks.

I always root for Fitzmagic, but he's got too much gunslinger in him for the level of arm talent. I can't take a QB who giveths and takeths at the level he does both. I cant think of anyone else who has that level of ups and downs.

I’ll go Gabriel because after the Rams dumped him he still played another 3 years at a higher level than any quarterbacks the Rams used to replace him. And he played at a higher level than any of the other quarterbacks that you’ve mentioned above after they were dumped. He was also proud of his Ram heritage.

Jaworski & Fitzmagic we let get away at the beginning of what developed into very productve careers so for me they are top 2

Goff always reminded me of Everett in a lot of ways.

Can play great when protected, but can get very skitterish when not. And just never seemed to get to the Super star status we hoped.

My son would ask me about Everett, and that's pretty much what I would tell him.

Yeah I think Jared's a better version but they are similar in their sensitivity to the rush and being moved. Also Jared didn't have that unfortunate incident like the phantom sack hanging over his head, that was battered QB syndrome live lol.

Everett's always been a great dude though and still reps well with the Rams and the fan base. Goff similar there as well.

I'll go with Fitz. Even though it did take him time to figure things out he did and his career is a real testament to his character IMO. Someone may make a movie about him someday.
