Some of these are more outside-the-box than others...

Rams release Ficken and replace with an outsider until GZ returns.

Rams trade for a vet OLB that is affordable. Could be a future pick or could be a current promising depth player, but it’s gotta happen. Gotta shore that up in this SB push year. Just gotta.

Franklin-Myers gets more and more snaps as the season unfolds, Longacre gets fewer and fewer.

Easley may not get many (or any) more snaps. His body has betrayed him. Sad.

Higbee and Everett will see more and more snaps together. Could be lethal under McVay’s scheming.

We’ll see more Suh outside snaps and sack and pressure totals will climb accordingly.

Shields will provide top drawer CB play by game 6-7 and will be a starter elsewhere in ‘19.

Expect Wade to keep tinkering all season long because there are so many new moving parts for him to fit together. Might go in many different directions just like last year.

Goff will put up 5000+ yards and 40+ TD’s.

Cooks, Woods, and Kupp combine for 4000+ yards receiving between them.

Edge will be a VERY high priority next offseason. Maybe even our 1st rounder.

How did I do?

I bet they make a move too........and will draft a couple of guys as well I think.

Goff will put up 5000+ yards and 40+ TD’s.

I think he will come kinda close to both of those numbers and will add this.

He will be at/over/really close to 70% completion percentage.

Breaking 5,000 yards has happened 9 times in NFL history. Only 5 guys have done it.

It would be INSANE if Goff did that WITH Gurley still rushing for over 1k yards which is still a thing that's almost certain to happen.

I don't think it happens only because I think some DC is going to finally pick stopping Goff as his poison and Gurley will have 250+ yards from scrimmage.

If Shields rounds into form, I would expect the Rams to try and lock him up. He won't get a ton even if he's playing really well because he's one hit from being done, but yeah, I'd try to lock him up after the season.

Getting Barron back fully healthy will be a major help in run stopping & pass coverage on tight ends. I'm one of the only thinking Obo steps in and with our vets coaching him up he will be the speed & thorn we are lacking off the edge. I see him reaping bigtime off our middle rush guys needing so much attention. I've seen all his film and so very glad we got him. Other rookies never played with these guys we have. We need GOOD LUCK & GRACE to stay healthy. If we get a tight end game working now we could be unstoppable.

My big question for the Vikes game was why we didn't see any Malcom Brown AT ALL when Gurly was obviously needing a breather later in the game? Brown has been on point on every run I've seen him make this season. Let's save Gurly for teams in the playoffs as much as we can. Some team will try to slow us down and try to force us to run to beat them. We can easily oblige them with our O-Line and stable of horses with Todd ,Brown & Kelley.

I love how we rotate our DL till we find the mismatches & catch a team not making right line calls on picking up our studs. Who ever thought on draft day when most of us draftniks wanted a ILB and we picked up Franklin Myers from Stephen F. Austin & said who & why? I think he is gonna be special by seasons end & next season & he's really earned his shot as injuries have given him an opening. Like our Bye time & think we come out with a more impressive & together defense for Championship run after it. LB's must step up bigtime. Wonder why Hager is only on ST's & gets no reps ? Just am over the Moon with our team. Love our OL & hope we can stay healthy & keep our depth ready in Brown & Noteboom ready to give Whit & Sully some rest in fourth quarters of upcoming blowouts. Like "Son of Bum" I love doughnuts.

We have some Giant games to play this season in Nawlins in a possible shootout against their crap "D". We play preview of SB in Mexico against KC. Iggles , Packers ,Broncos early in thin air to prepare for Mexico & thinner & Dirtier air. Bears & Lions will be their SB games playing us. I expect their best shots. Seagulls get their best wr back this weekend & we can't be over confident after blowing them out in Seattle last season. We'll have a sackfest I'm hoping against the most sacked qb in NFL. Plenty to keep us growing for Playoff level ball. GO RAMS !!

Naw cause you keep Kupp out and you still have woods and Cooks out you still have your bootlegs and playaction and Higbee and Everett should be a match up nightmare for any linebacker or safety. And when cooks or woods need a break you bring in Kupp and it’s no drop off from production that’s what makes this team scary because everyone and I mean everyone is a threat on every play

One thing about the Gurley you can’t not use him to save him for the playoffs the offensive line needs him in the game Goff needs him in the game. I love Brown I think he’s a starter on a lot of different teams but Gurley knows when it’s time for him to exit the game like he did last week otherwise you ride him and you use him because that’s what makes this offense go. With how great Goff has been and this offense those playaction or fake sweeps wouldn’t be as effective without Gurley. And he only get like 17 carries a game that’s not a heavy work load like Bell get almost 40 touches a game

Having all 3 wrs out there is the nightmare. Higbee and Everett don't scare anyone

Not yet maybe that’s why they don’t run that personnel that much but with Gurley and an extra blocker on the line having the defense think run makes that playaction more lethal than ever

I will definitely say we got a difference in opinion. I think we do need to incorporate the TEs more into the offense. There is talent there but unproven. Use Higbee or Everrett more but definitely not at the expense of sitting a WR like Kupp. No worries about Gurley needing another blocker. Our Oline and Gurley are enough to force a defense to defend the run.

One thing with how loaded this team is, you don't have to force feed anyone.
The game plan determines the formations, the sets determine the personal.
McVay has a ton of ways to attack teams.
Making sure one gets touches doesn't matter and isn't needed now.
That left with TA.

Rams have not drafted a CB since 2014 in Joyner, who was moved to FS under Wade. Suspect a CB or 2 will be drafted next year, good teams develop CB's.

I do not see any OLB'er out there that fits this move.

Franklin-Myers gets more and more snaps as the season unfolds, Longacre gets fewer and fewer.
I think we are already there now. JFM on the strong side opposite of Ebukam just makes too much sense now. Longacre is not what he was last season @ this time. The injury & surgery then another bicep injury has Longacre a shell of his former self. Wow first Okornokwo broken foot then Longacre's bicep, then Fox's ACL, then Ryan Davis ankle then Easley knee.........

Easley may not get many (or any) more snaps. His body has betrayed him. Sad.
Yes I hurt for Easley but injuries & surgeries do take thier toll.

Higbee and Everett will see more and more snaps together. Could be lethal under McVay’s scheming.
I see this happening when we get a good size lead & but I have no ideal why you would bench Woods or Cooks or Kupp for one of these TE's
o_O.

We’ll see more Suh outside snaps and sack and pressure totals will climb accordingly.

Sure appears that Suh outside just works on those RT's its magic....Use Suh to stop the run early use Suh outside to slap the QB down when the opponetts need to pass.

Shields will provide top drawer CB play by game 6-7 and will be a starter elsewhere in ‘19.

If Sam remain healthy bet on it!

Expect Wade to keep tinkering all season long because there are so many new moving parts for him to fit together. Might go in many different directions just like last year.

I see the utilization of more 4 DL'ers rushing the passer once Barron returns to the lineup with Littleton.

Edge will be a VERY high priority next offseason. Maybe even our 1st rounder.

All eyes on ER Og Okoronwko return

As always your doing just fine;)!

I appreciate the kind words, Bonifay.

I’m flattered that we only disagree on 2 items.

While I’m no expert on other teams rosters, I find it hard to believe that there is not one other team out there that is deep with at least decent quality edge players AND would like to either swap for one of our many quality depth players at a position in which they are thin. OR maybe such a player for a later draft pick (or picks). Snead can be very creative in such matters.

As to why put in a 2nd TE and take out a Kupp? Point taken. But didn’t I read that against the Vikings there was one 3 TE snap and a TD was scored? Another thing. Having more weapons at TE with which to attack does 2 things. It gives a McVay more scheme options against certain teams down the road. AND it could give us additional injury insurance in case a WR gets injured, something that’s almost certain to occur.

How’d I do?

:coffee:I found some fresh information on our top drafted defensive rookie below. It seems to easily blend in our thoughts on this big rookie above.;)

Here’s how PFF saw the big win in Week 4

https://www.turfshowtimes.com/2018/...p-review-pro-football-focus-game-notes-week-4

Rookie edge defender John Franklin-Myers not only produced the strip-sack that ultimately ended the game against the Vikings, he also contributed his most pass-rushing snaps of the season (30) and two more quarterback pressures than he had all season (5) coming into Thursday’s game. Franklin-Myers has produced an overall defensive grade of 77.8 across the last two weeks, which currently ranks second among rookie edge defenders.

His performance as well as the return of Obo may be why the Rams aren't seemingly looking around for edge rushers...

And Ebukam hasn't been bad either. He just needs a little more polish.
