Yeah, never heard of this before.... you just do NOT quit on your team like this.

This guy has been in the league for nine years and should know better.

Hurt the team, hurt himself.

Niner tears, delicious!!

CB Ward is pissed:

Good lord.

I hate the Whiners but this is telling of just another locker room lost.

Rat Face has some issues to resolve that may take a while.

Looking like 9er fans will have to travel back down to SOFI if they want to catch a playoff game this season!

You have to cut the guy after that. I almost feel bad for his teammates. At least they TRIED to win.

It has happened a few times in recent years. Diontae Johnson refused to go into a game earlier this year.

Debo is probably thankful that the quitting LB is taking some of the attention off him. Greenlaw was a monster out there in his return from injury but being he’s a free agent in the offseason you have to wonder if he returned too soon and risked a big payday. One guy saying NO MAS and another risking EVERYTHING.

Culture issues continue under Shanny/Lynch.

I wonder if this is why the Rams moved on from Jones so fast, and seemingly out of nowhere. Pure conjecture on my part, but if there's any hint of a player not being all-in just to avoid injury before a payday, you have to cut that shit out like a cancer.

Yeah, there is a reason we have a good locker room in LA.

Yeah, as others have eluded to...

Rat Face and Lynch created and maintain a culture of shit for the whiners. Between the constant purposeful dirty play by their defense (Lynch's trademark) and the look of constant misery and disgust (Rat Face) on the faces of every whiner player and coach. It certainly doesn't look anything like "We Not Me".... it's the exact opposite. When I see that team's players and coaches on the sidelines, it NEVER looks like any of them are happy to be there.

Maybe what caused this is the result of this player having something very seriously wrong with him, and that caused him to tell his coaches and teammates to basically fuck off on prime time TV. But being forced to operate in the shit culture may have been what precipitated the problem he has to erupt into this madness.

Its called career suicide. Hard to see other teams taking a chance on him after quitting on his teamates.

Hard to imagine someone refusing to get paid the rest of a one year $5M dollar contract.
Maybe his ego thought he should play over Greenlaw....despite it being clear WHY he was signed....to fill the gap until Greenlaw came back....or he is having some sort of breakdown....or he is just choosing to retire this way.
Either way, not our issue.
Not to get all Cowherd here, but, culture matters.
Deebo complains about not getting the ball on a team that is floundering and Shanny tries to force the ball to him.
DeShaun Jackson complained publicly about not getting the ball on an undefeated team and he was almost immediately cut.
Difference between Shanny and McVay is clear.

I can understand someone not wanting to face our offense but we weren't even hitting on all cylinders last night

hmmmm I think you're on to something. I can see it now "ohhhhhh man Greenlaw soooo great to have YOU back YOU were really kickin ram butt out there (Campbell skulking in corner) what a difference our D looks like with YOU in there, like night and day (Campbell starts packing)"
Niners really lacking that we not me culture -- we got a bunch of guys who all contribute in small ways despite their status on the team, and celebrate each others' success. Teams can be "deep" in more ways than one.
