One of Stafford’s issues has been trusting his arm too much. The system just by play-calling will limit some of those opportunities. It is blended into the play-action and the boots and the set-up shots where Matt can still uncork stuff.”
I think McVay can communicate to Stafford that he doesn't have to go for it on every play. Stafford not having to force the ball will make him so much better. I agree play calling will set him up better. plus having the weapons on offense. Keep the turnovers low and remember you have a very good defense too.

I bet shit like this Chaps Stafford's Ass and make him want to shove these articles up their asses. Like, "I'll show you seventh, Mother F..." At least I hope so. I think Stafford is going to have a MONSTER year.

The guy does get banged up, and he is tough, but this stuff catches up to you.

Yeah, that is a lot of little things added up. Maybe it keeps going, maybe not. Either way McVay had seen enough of Goff. So much so that if they hadn’t landed a better QB he was going to have an open competition this summer. Maybe if Watson was available they would have gone that route. We will never know.

In Goffs 5yr. career with Rams he has been sacked 129 times. over that same period
Stafford has been sacked 180 times.
Just don't see Stafford getting knocked around near as much as he did with Detroit.

The deviation in the votes is kind of amazing tbh. There is a ton of variance. Just about as much as we have on team boards in fact.

But that's why they play the games eh? Methinks 9 is gonna have a lot to say with his play on the field about those fuckers who ranked him as a "3."

Stafford is still learning the offense but seems to be impressing Kupp and Ramsay (and likely others.) What I've been hoping to hear out of camp. I won't quote it out of respect for the for-pay source but it's good stuff.

If you are playing in Detroit where , on the norm , you are getting sacked 40+ a year, it's hard not to get banged up.
Hopefully he will stay healthier on a team that will only allow around 25 sacks per year.

I am guessing he may get sacked more than Goff did because he will hang on to the ball longer trying to make a play... Like Russell Wilson does. Then again, minus Blythe the up the gut rush may not be as big a problem this yr.
