I get your point but Cousins has a ton more mileage than Jimmy G does. I’d prefer Garoppolo over Cousins.AKA: backup veteran NFL QB in 2026

JMO but I take Jimmy easily.
He is careful with the ball and can hit most throws in stride. We saw it with the 9ers more than once.
Sure, he's no Stafford but who is? Not Cousins either.
For the money no contest, assuming JimmyG is reasonable. Be grateful to have him.
You'd have to change the offense a bit but I think he could move the ball and lead the team for most of a season if necessary.
Hope we don't need him but hope we can keep him.
