Not sure how they keep Jackson when they got the 5 set late in the year. I was happy when they signed him, now I’ll be happy if they move on.

Maybe they release Jonah Jackson but I hope not.

I'm not a fan of big-Dead-$ and minimal cap relief.

Looks like $11.3M of Dead-$, with a mere $3.3M of cap savings from a pre-June release. That ain't much.
Heck, the Rams would save the same $3.3M by releasing Kendrick, with almost no Dead-$.

Even if Jackson doesn't start, he would represent excellent depth at all three interior-OL positions.

Agreed why release a guy who can backup all 3 IOL positions.

By all means, release Kendrick, too.

With the rate of injuries on this team and McVay saying they can't let Oline injuries derail their season, I would say they keep him.

I thought there was more if June after June 1st. You're right, Dead Money SUCKS.

Absolutely. More savings (and lower Dead-$) with a post-June 1 release designation but the savings in Dead-$ doesn't go-away. It just gets pushed into 2026.

I can also see Jackson challenging Limmer for the starting-center spot in 2026. He was rehabbing an injury last off-season, and was limites until August. Then he got injured early in the season. With a full and healthy off-season, maybe Jackson takes-over at center.

Right now, the depth at interior O-Line is Justin Dedich, Dylan McMahon and KT Leveston.

I agree about Jackson and being the starting C.
At least the staff appeared to award playing time by merit this time around.
I actually like both Dedich and McMahon.
Both are green but had good moments, particularly Dedich across a few games.
Leveston we know nothing about, but, I like the Rams interior depth.

Agree. I have my fingers crossed on all three, and hope one or two become reliable reserves.

Leveston did not play a snap but has the size the other two lack. Clearly the Rams liked McMahon, as they signed him off the Eagles Practice Squad. They may have even liked him over Limmer in the Draft. Both went in the 6th Round but McMahon was selected before any of the Rams' four 6th rounders came-up.

By-the-way, that may turn-out to be an All-Time-Great Sixth Round group ... Tyler Davis, Jordan Whittington, Joshua Karty and Beaux Limmer.

Still McMahon barely saw the field. Even Dedich only played about 200 snaps; and that was mostly early in the season when so many OL were injured.

Right now, all three are young and inexperienced. I like the idea of having one quality veteran in reserve.

I’d say with Leveston we know The Rams are high on his upside. They put him on IR with a chance to comeback. He just made more sense letting him build himself up for 2025.The dude was a steal IMO.
—Better than McClendon when it’s all said and done!! He adds to that depth you talk about.

Yeah, I wouldn't release him.

But..

I'd play him a bunch in preseason and if someone gets desperate for a starting guard, I'd be open to the right trade.

And create a hole on your roster. Use draft picks to build up the roster not to fill he's that aren't holes. I'll never understand wanting to create roster deficiencies.

Fair enough.
I mean.. I wouldn't do it without feeling comfortable with the rest of the depth.

And aside from Jackson there is no depth that I know of. Now if we sign a versatile iol in free agency then anything is possible.
