You finally achieve that ultimate goal, and you enjoy the fruits of your labor.

And then, the worst that can happen to a team happens... you get civilized.

Along comes a brash, tough opponent. An opponent who feels that a chance at the top was unfairly denied to them, and they're hungry.

You take them too lightly, and you get clubb(er)ed into submission.

And then, in the aftermath, injury piles on top of insult.

You feel lost. You feel doubt. You feel afraid. IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT!!?!?! YOU WANT TO BREAK ME DOWN!?!?!? FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OUR LIFE WE'RE AFRAID!!!!

But then, you get perspective... the players realize that they have to want it for the right reasons. Not for the people, or the money, but for themselves. Because when the cheering stops and everyone stops chanting their names, they have to live with themselves. And if they lose, they lose with no excuses, no fear.

Finally, the rematch comes...

The opponent vows... they're goint to "bust you up."

"Go for it" is the reply.

Or am I being a bit dramatic?

Ah, Rocky, the love story. "Yo, Adrianne. When did you get so tough."
"I'm married to a fighter."

Hopefully the wives did their duties and helped reset their husbands like the movie. (Not what I suspect some of you knuckleheads will suggest)

This thread delivers. @AvengerRam you have an amazing mind, and I'm here for it, haha. Maybe this means that next season will be the BEST season (Rocky IV)....

One game and all this damn drama.

May have been better waiting for a few more games to make this work.

Lets hope it is not needed.

GO RAMS!!!

Lol, shortly after the Buffalo game, I independently had the same thought about Rocky 3 as well. I was even gonna try to find the scene and post it-- the one where Rocky gets overconfident and doesn't train as hard as he usually does.

Having said that, I'm not totally sure that the Rams *actually* let their guard down. I remember Wagner said something about how he'd never know the rams were the champs because everyone seemed so hungry and dedicated throughout training camp.

But anyway... the Buffalo game was definitely a wake-up call. I'm confident the Rams will respond. They'll whip the Falcons like Rocky did in the Clubber Lang rematch.

If The Rams lose ? Then what ? Mcvay knows as much as Any HC that a victory in the NFL isn’t guaranteed.
—That crap happens in the movies.
My guess is that it’s a Home Game ?

I also think the Rams may need to get away from cozy(cushy) SoFi. It’s been awhile and I like the grit of these McVay teams on the road.

Well I don't like this thread. I don't like it al all!!!

Mickey dies in Rocky 3. Thanks for nothing Avenger!
Yeah, really loved Burgess Meredith in the role of Mickey the trainer. But I kept waiting for him to grab an umbrella and squirt some gas out the top while saying "Take that, Batman!!"

Man, you want to watch a Jurassic plodding conservative offense? Go watch a Herm Edwards gameplan for the Sun Devils. Even Jeff Fisher would be like “Can we try something more aggressive?”
