The Rams finished tied for first (Denver) in the league with 52 sacks, and the record was set by the 1984 Chicago Bears with 72. Pretty substantial improvement over last year with a +13 uptick. The Rams finished second in the league in sacks when blitzing (with 26) and second in success rate as they got home for sacks on 12.38 percent of their 184 called blitzes.
20 is a long way off the mark (1.25 sacks per game short), BUT ... they didn't have Brockers the whole season, AND he was a rookie. Further compounded by the fact that Langford, Dunbar and Haggans/McIntosh were all new to the system, and the Rams very rarely played with a lead, which would normally allow for a defense to pin its ears back and get after the passer. Denver, on the other hand....

73 sacks or more. Bank it.
