We got 8 days left till it starts. I thought I get some discussion going for the game.

49er fans are claiming AD won't play in that game. Posting social media stuff about it. So will he be ready from the start?

I'm thinking similarly. It's not the 15 hour flight, it's is he ready? If he's ready, then hell yeah, play. If he's not, then don't.

I don't think you could keep him off the field.
They're just trying to keep the 149ers guessing.

I’d be surprised if he didn’t play. It’s not like he just now decided to come back - he has been picking at this decision for a month or more and he was already in better shape than 99 percent of the league even in retirement.

I’m interested to see how we account for CMC catching passes out of the backfield. He gets like 10-12 targets a game. Feels like it’s time to treat him like a primary rather than a checkdown option. A linebacker may not be the way here.

AD said the whole reason he waited to decide was to be sure he was "all in." H'es a damn good teammate of course. Why the hell would he delay joining the team at this point? I'd be shocked if he was a healthy scratch for game 1. Wouldn't be a good look.

Instead, he's gonna come back for Game 1 and enjoy the well-deserved media frenzy.

Also, why would he agree to $10 million in game day bonuses if he was gonna miss games?

The very structure of his contract doesn’t make him missing games make sense.

What does make sense is making Kyle Shanahan and his offensive staff do double work for game plans with and without AD and McVay is selling the AD might not play hard. Plus, with us going so late, that becomes an advantage

If not making this trip would guarantee he's healthy and playing in all of the 16 (19?) games left, then of course you hold him out. But it doesn't guarantee jackshit, and this is a possibly very good 49er team who's a division opponent and a rival - and to miss it would send, if not a bad message, a questionable one at the very least. I THEREFORE DECREE HE SHALL PLAY!

Also, I think the 49ers left today or will do so tomorrow, while the Rams are flying in the day before the game. If the Rams are wrong it will really affect them. Jet lag can be a bitch, and this trip isn't flying from Baltimore to London.

Have the Rams explained their rationale on this and I missed it?

I'm still interested to hear if AJ is going to have an issue flying that far. I assume, if that is the case, couldn't he fly to Hawaii for 1 leg, then the rest a couple days later? I'm completely ignorant to the clotting condition he has in regards to flying however. Strange to not hear anything about it though.
