The only way to stop history from repeating itself is to remember your history. So watching this might hurt a bit.

While I'm sure that Vikes fans will have no trouble throwing these in our faces as a sample of what we should expect this weekend, it is worth noting the comedic keystone cop routine that the Rams D executed perfectly on the 82 and 52 yard runs.
On the 82 yard run, we inexplicably called a zone blitz, sending 4 guys from Quinn's side to put some pressure on Christian Ponder who was oddly efficient to this point in the game. But not only did they send 4 from Quinn's side, they had Chris Long trying to get upfield, and Kendall Langford dropping back in some zone defense scheme, creating a HUGE void up the middle. They also had both corners in press coverage and only safety Craig Dahl deep.
What could possibly go wrong??
Well, of course, it wasn't a passing play. Peterson running out of a deep I formation took the handoff straight up the field, never going more than a few yards from the hash mark where the ball was snapped on his way to the endzone.
This isn't helping anyone feel better, is it?
Good. So let's not repeat it.

- Chris Long and the 4 Rams defenders were stuck upfield. Quinn made a mighty effort trying to run Peterson down from behind but only succeeded getting himself as the unwitting co-star on Peterson's poster.
- Brockers allowed himself to be turned rather than 2-gapping.
- Kendall Langford was the best blocker on the play, dropping back from his A-gap, leading Peterson through the hole and leveling Laurinaitis 10 yards downfield
- Janoris Jenkins did recognize the play eventually, but instead of finding the ball carrier flattened himself out and ran to the sideline... doing a perfect job of finding a place where Peterson wasn't
- Courland Finnegan... well... he was running like my grandma out there (and she's dead). It's painful watching both Peterson and Quinn steam by him
- Craig "Stonefeet" Dahl... if there was such a thing as criminal misdiagnosis, Dahl would be guilty of it on this play. His malpractice insurance would have been sent skyrocketing.
- Well, there's the hold on Mikell.
- And Dunbar being Dunbar.
- And Finnegan falling on his butt.
- And Dahl flailing away at air again. Fittingly, Dahl was the one getting leveled by Langford on this play.
- And Quinn comedically trying to chase Peterson down from behind... again...
- And Jenkins making the same read but somehow magically being right this time...
