When she reports, I think it is as close to hearing what Rams' Management actually thinks and intends to do. Even more so than listening to McVay and Snead answer questions because they are guarded in what they say.

I listen every time they post a new podcast. During the season that’s every week. It’s the most informative Rams news we have.

I know most here are aware of the podcast but I figured I’d put it up in case some members didn’t know about it. I didn’t know about it until mid season last year. Someone here clued me in.

We take things at face value. Many assumed that Snead and McVay don’t value inside linebackers. It seems they just weren’t in position to get a good one

Also, if you listened to the podcast, a HUGE factor was bringing in the person who plays that position. They want leaders like him. Bringing an HOF guy who's a good player still who is also, by all accounts, a fantastic leader to help out on the second level, was a win for them.

I don't think they don't care about ILB and I think if they signed Von, they would've tried to bring in a low cost vet or draft another guy.

We all also saw what she said.. beating the 9ers was a problem. This should help a bunch.

What's cool is the Rams have gotten better this offseason. They've gotten worse too but the overall balance seems to be there.

Pass game potency went way up with addition of Robinson. He is an enormous addition to this offense and a fit. ILB room improved at the very least against the run. The Rams being the 5th worst team in missed tackles is probably going to be reversed this season as a result.

But they lost a huge pass rush piece in Von too. So for the Rams someone stepping up is gonna be the plan. I don't think you find an answer on the FA market, I think that's a draft approach. Corner also remains a need, but clearly they felt Wagner was better than Gilmore in terms of what they have left.

Once again I'm surprised by the size of this Wagner contract. I expected we would get him on a cheap deal commensurate with a two down ILB but the Rams are pretty damn good at their projections. Bottom line is if they can find someone to provide some rush potency and keep that falloff minimized the defense will be in business. If not, then the coverages are gonna be tested big time. So improvement in the draft in rush and coverage options is likely.

We really don't know what that Wagner contract is yet, so I'm withholding judgement on that part.

Better? Definitely a possibility.. it all depends on player development. Who's that RG? Can they deliver? Can E Jones stay healthy and make the ILBs a powerful unit? Is Rochell going to take a big step up? Can Long grow more? Is Scott ready to be an every down safety?
Etc.. etc..

But I do like what they've added in many ways and do like that there's some fresh energy and real differences to the team, year-to-year. You can't get stale.

I'm especially excited about the Robinson addition and what the offense will look like.. I think it's going to be absolutely ridiculous.

The Wagner addition replaces some of the leadership losses of team leaders Whit, Woods, Hekker, and Miller. Good point by Jordan. He is another leader the young players can look up to plus his experience calling the defense. Waiting to see how the Rams divide up the playing time with Wagner and Jones. It's great to have both Wagner and Jones on the field together.

Floyd felt like a new player and person after joining the roster, as he described to me in 2021. He shared his journey with Robinson, who also had a frustrating exit from Chicago after playing on the franchise tag for a year.

Floyd’s four-year, $64 million contract was restructured this offseason to give the Rams about $12 million more in salary-cap flexibility, and Pastoors said that Floyd didn’t bat an eye about the restructure. In fact, Floyd loved being in Los Angeles so much that when he and his representation were in contract talks last spring, he committed to the Rams at his current annual number, which others (including the Giants) tried to top. Floyd turned down the higher numbers in order to stick to his initial commitment.

“Leonard has been awesome to work with,” Pastoors said. “Leonard feels like he’s at home now.”

That's awesome to read! Floyd is silently a star. He's so quiet too. Never thought about the Floyd/Robinson connection.

So awesome to hear he's such a team guy too.
