NFL Power Rankings, Week 8: Power Rankings Week 8

Tags:
Week 8 means some head-to-head match ups may be thrown out. How a team played back in September vs. how they are playing now takes into affect. So in turn you'll see teams ahead against ones they lost.

But as always, overall record, head-to-head match ups and overall play takes in to account.
With the best record in the league right now but they have to overcome injuries at OL.

Despite the drama, can't deny the play. Trade Martavius Bryant pronto. I'm surprised the team is putting up with him.

If only the Super Bowl was in Houston this year. I'd totally go.
Gotta give credit to them, starting off as terrible as they did.
I'm breaking my own rules and putting them below a team they beat. Because screw these guys.
Big Mover: Loss of 5 spots
Suddenly that defensive backfield has so many holes. Eric Berry is just one guy, but Marcus Peters gets abused every week.
They are so mortal.
5-2 with Case Keenum. Let's see if they avoid a collapse like last year.
Big Mover: Gain of 4 spots
They a won a game without their best offensive player. That says a lot.
Big Mover: Gain of 4 spots
Come from behind and steal a victory. They are 4-2.
When your top CBs are either out or clearly not 100%, it's gonna be hard to win. Kirk Cousins still had 300+ yards passing.
Author's Favorite Team
Duane Brown is back, which makes for a better line, which makes for a better, QB, which is going to be very exciting. Hopefully it won't be in garbage time, though.
Well I'm removing "pretender" status, as two 17 point CFB victories is impressive. But why be down 17 to begin with?
Big Mover: Gain of 10 spots
Hey BSPN: .500 teams that just beat a winless SF group doesn't warrant a top 10 spot.
Well that was a fun two weeks, two weeks ago.
Big Mover: Gain of 12 spots
Yes, I'm giving them a 12 jump kudos. They are playing really good football right now.
Big Mover: Loss of 8 spots
And y'all thought Jeff Fisher didn't know offense. :sneaky:
Talk about your hangovers. I'm talking about the fog.
Big Mover: Loss of 8 spots
And thus beginith, the decendith, to obscurity.
You know damn well if the Titans had lost it would've been attributed to the "trap game". But win ugly, and everyone loses their mind!
Big Mover: Gain of 4 spots
Mitchell Trubisky only completed 4 passes and the Bears still won. I can't wait to see the reaction from fans of the team he has his coming out party.
It was fun while it lasted.
I wonder if the number of games Vontaze Burfict has been suspended equate a full season's worth.
Matthew Stafford with a bad line is going against a reborn Steelers defense. Good luck, Matthew.
Big Mover: Gain of 5 spots
That was pretty good, and if Amari Cooper can be like that every week, the Raiders will quickly rise in the rankings (and me in my fantasy league).
Seriously, much respect to Carson Palmer for taking beatings every vs. the Rams. It's been real.
You can always count on the Bucs for garbage time fantasy stats.
How did they win 3 games?!
Indy has been either very competitive or very bad. If it's the latter, it's the coaches fault. That doesn't make sense!
I wonder how Janoris Jenkins feels about now, with his former team at 5-2?
They have the same record as the Browns. I'll let that sink in for a bit.
Money ball is a money fail.

Yeah you could easily flip LA and PITT and be fine with it. KC has major issues on defense recently, kinda like NE does/did.

Excellent job my man. Solid comments to.

Washington secondary, Watson garbage time points etc. This dude is in the know.

    You da man, @Angry Ram

Although I don't get the love for Pitt. Just two weeks ago they lose 30-9 to the Jags. Big Ben floats a retirement trial balloon and the whole team has turmoil.

They beat Andy Dalton with trick plays and they are now the second best team in the league? I call bs.

The only other beef I have is Dallas. You probably have them about right vs. the lame stream reporters, but jumping ten spots because they beat up the win-less Whiners?

Overall excellent job. I am enjoying your quips, and most teams are placed about right. I think the Rams at #3 is perfect.

Well Pittsburgh is a veteran team, with the best active WR, top 3 multi-purpose RB, good OL, and vet QB. Plus their D is 3rd in points allowed. I don't really recall many trick plays against Cincy...as Le'Veon Bell ran the thing 35 times.

Overall, they are 5-2 with a top D, top O and just a hair above the Rams (mainly b/c of veteran experience vs. youth).

Got it. Makes sense. I don't watch them that closely, but you make a good point. Didn't it seem like they were just imploding though?

Yeah, with Antonio Brown (overblown), Le'Veon Bell (holdout), Ben toying with the media, and Martavius Bryant being a prick, it did seem like that. Now everything except Martavius Bryant is seems to have passed.

BTW RE: Dallas, it's not they moved up 10 spots, it's that the other teams they jumped just aren't playing well, and probably won't. I mean Atlanta and Denver look lifeless, Carolina is meh, and GB can't do anything without Aaron.
