You win @Prime Time !

I don't normally throw tantrums. Sure, I'll curse and bitch but don't ever throw or punch stuff. I tend to get more withdrawn and introverted with my grief like @rams2050.

Wow, I read the first paragraph and thought you were kidding...I almost posted something smart-ass...Glad I didn't...The too young to be married thing resonates with me though..Both my first wife and I were too young...She was a trophy wife and not worth the grief as it turns out...Not blameless on my side either of course...Guess I shouldn't turn this into a nightmare marriage thread...

Nobody won. But that explains why I don't get as bent out of shape when the Rams lose as some others do. I must admit though after the Cowboys, a few games ago, came from way behind to beat us, I seriously considered for about half an hour ending my stormy relationship with the Rams. But here I am. It's tough to walk away from your first love. :)

My biggest meltdown was when Everett had the phantom sack and just laid down. I was so sick of losing to the 49 ers and to do that in the playoffs. I lost complete respect for Everett after that. So when Rome called him Chris Everett I agreed with him 100%.

I watched both Super Bowls alone. The really important games are done solo. No one gets to be around me. As far as the ex haunting me. Nah, that was another lifetime ago. A valuable but expensive lesson learned. In the show Breaking Bad, Gus Fring gave Walter White some valuable advice, "Never make the same mistake twice." ;)

Oh, why not? :sneaky:

I waited until I was 34 to marry this one. She was 32 and had been married before as well. Still a rocky ride but it's lasted a long time. My son knows this story and all of my past but apparently he didn't get the point. He got married the day before he turned 20. He's a Skins fan and she's a Packers fan. Somehow they make it work.

I got it right the 2nd time...Like you, not always a fun time, but we passed 35 years in May...She is not nearly the looker my 1st was, but she's 10x the woman that my POS 1st will ever be...OK, I'm done...

My story is pretty boring. After a Niner loss a few years ago i went LOUD.

Living on a 3rd story aptmt. Been drinking alot. Rams lose. I turn on my music really fucking loud. I go out my door to smoke a ciggy and find my downstairs neighbor standing there banging on my door in a fit of rage. She yells "What? Do you think you're the only person living here?!"
I replied calmy..."Yes. I live alone." and shut my door.
The cops showed up later and it was no big deal.

Screamed, cursed.... hit the beer, murdered the kegerator... lol I understand it was a nice thought and everything - a Kegerator for a birthday present - but to get it before the start of the 2008 season just spelled disaster...

Don't blame me. :sneaky:

January 4th of 1976. The Rams are being mercilessly beaten 37-7 by the hated Cowboys in the LA Memorial Coliseum of all places. I'm drinking beer and getting into a horrible mood. The wife tells me to calm down and stop throwing things at the TV. I tell her to shut up. She doesn't. I suggest she pack her stuff and move out. She does and files for divorce 3 weeks later. Haven't seen or heard from her since February of 1977. Btw she was a Packers fan.

The whole incident wasn't violent or resulted in me breaking stuff or going into a rage or anything. I've done that at other times when our team lost a game. But it was a mental meltdown that led to big changes in my life and hers. We were both too young and stupid to be married anyway but it sticks out in my mind to this day and reminds me, each and every Rams game I watch, to keep my priorities in order and not to get too bent out of shape.

i feel your pain - and i know the young situation that you speak of. During said period that I got the kegerator, I was 23 and my ex wife was 19, mentally going on 16. Didn't truly understand how much of a kid she was til it was too late

This is a funny thread.

It started for me when I was very young. From a very very young age... I was screaming at the TV during Ram games. It didn't matter if we were winning or losing... I was SCREAMING. LOUD. My Dad is a dolphins fan,,, he never shared my enthusiasm for the Rams LOL. As I got older, my emotional involvement in the Rams increased... as did my voice.

As a result of this. And I shit you not. My Dad would only buy a house that had a 4th bedroom on the opposite side of the house as the other 3 (that isolated one was for me). I'm an Army Brat so we moved often, almost never lived on Base...... but we never lived in a house that didn't isolate me opposite of the rest of the family. I was only allowed to watch the Rams in my room.

To this very day,,, I still know that the refs, coaches, players, and commentators can hear me. And,,, I watch the Rams where ever the fuck I want to now. :D

Normally I don't get very mad, but then came the breaking point. I forget the opponent, but it was back in like 2007. I went absolutely apeshit. I screamed, threw my drink across the room, flipped my couch over, and of course my cat got all scared, so I told her I was going to crush her bones. I never harmed her in any way though. lol

I was like 16 at the time and I think I had a little too much rage built up inside me.

I punched Santa once. I asked him for a fire breathing dragon for Christmas. He said, "you have to be realistic". So I said I would like the Rams to have a winning season. Santa then said, " what color dragon do you want?" That's when I punched him. :p

Growing up I had a close friend who was a huge Vikings fan. The '76 NFC Championship game pitted my RAMS vs. his Vikings. We boasted all week long leading up to the game whose team was going to win. Unfortunately my RAMS lost 24-13 and I was really upset. I was throwing a tantrum and my parents were yelling at me to stop. Right after the game I get a telephone call from my friend. Knowing he was glued to his TV, he calmly asks who won the game. I was so pissed I ripped the phone out of the wall. Needless to say my dad tore me a new a$$hole. I think I still have a boot imprint on my butt from where he booted me.

I was nine years old at the time and it was the last time I remember crying still to this day I will not forgive Chuck Knox for starting a rusty James Harris over Ron Jaworski who had just engineered a great offensive display the week previous against the St. Louis Cardinals.

My Father tried to tell me I took it too seriously and after I wiped the tears from my face I went on a rant utilizing certain expletives my father had never heard me utter. To this day he never tells me not to take things too seriously, but I have become somewhat numb over the years.

I just remember our asses getting kicked by the Packers one day back in high school. I was livid and pissed. My Dad kept trying to make me go check cattle saying "the game is over." He didn't get it, never has. It'd be building for a long time. I felt my request was simple. Just leave me alone during the freaking Rams game! I don't care if they're sucking!

Anyway, I pointed at him a told him all the crap I'd do if he left me alone. They were devastated and super pissed. They left me alone... then banned me from football and blocked ESPN, NFLN, and eventually figured out how to block the game. Wow... I'm actually getting pissed talking about this.

Another thing, I've always thought the meanest arsehole thing my Dad ever did making me go patch fence during a Rams game. I was crushed...

No meltdowns here, but my mood gets a bit sullen and I try to be mindful not to be angry with the family.
