You're being sent to a desert island... for some reason. It's the off-season. Roll with it.

Anyway, you're being allowed to bring a portable DVD player and DVDs of any 5 Rams games throughout history you want. Which games do you pick?

My picks:

- Los Angeles Rams vs. New Orleans Saints, November 26th, 1989. The Rams come back from a 14 point deficit to beat the Saints in OT on the strength of Flipper Anderson's 336 receiving yards (still an NFL single game receiving record)

- San Francisco 49ers vs. St. Louis Rams, October 10th, 1999. The Rams go up 21-0, causing Isaac Bruce to cry in joy. They finish the rout 42-20, snapping the 49ers' 17 game "win" streak vs. the Rams. (Stupid 90's refs...)

- St. Louis Rams vs. Tennessee Titans, January 30th, 2000. Super Bowl 34. Nuff said.

- Green Bay Packers vs. St. Louis Rams, January 20th, 2002. Possibly the GSOT's last really dominating win, crushing the Packers 45-20.

- St. Louis Rams vs. Indianapolis Colts, November 10th, 2013. Tavon Austin introduces himself to the NFL.

Honorable Mention:

- Minnesota Vikings vs. St. Louis Rams, January 16th, 2000. Vikings lead at half 17-14. Rams score 35 points in second and hang on for the win. Rams: We still haven't beaten anybody! Randy Moss: I'ma squirt the referee!

- St. Louis Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks, January 8th, 2005. Despite losing the division to the Seahawks, we beat them to complete a rare 3-0 season sweep of them. Seahawk tears were very very delicious.

What are yours?

Thats a good list but I'd have to have the 2000 Chargers game. That was MaxQ at it's peak. Had Martz not pulled Warner, Faulk and a couple of other guys they might have set the record for points and a few passing records that day. They came out flying and didn't stop, and that was no slouch of a defense the Chargers had that year.

The Rams defense sets an NFL record of -7 total yards in a 24-0 shellacking. Seattle totals 1 first down.

I can't name 5 desert island games off the top of my head. But I'll name one desert Island game. And I'm fudging a bit here, because I'm going to talk about a desert island 1st half.

The year was 1973, the Rams had a new QB John Hadl and a new Chuck Knox was the new Head Coach.
The Date- October 14, 1973. The 4-0 Rams were facing 3-1 Dallas Cowboys.

Rams third offensive play- Hadl to Harold Jackson 63 yard TD pass
Before the first quarter ended Hadl throws a 16 yard TD pass to Harold Jackson
This was followed my a Mel Renfro interception return for a TD- Ram 14 Cowboys 7 end of first Quarter

Rams CB Eddie McMillan and LB Isiah Robertson intercept Roger Staubach in the 2nd quarter!
Hadl throws a 67 yard TD pass to Harold Jackson
Hadl throws a 36 yard TD pass to Harold Jackson, and Rams field goal kicker David Ray adds two field goals before halftime.

Halftime- Rams 34 Cowboys 14
(Rams DB Al Clark intercepted a Staubach pass at the LA 32 with 2:31 left on the clock...Game over!)
Final Score - Rams 37 Cowboys 31

Harold Jackson 238 yards receiving and 4 Touchdowns! All in the first half. I remember being deliriously happy the entire first half. We embarrassed our arch nemesis- the Cowboys Doomsday Defense. I could hear the Rams-horn air raid sirens, floating atop an ocean white rose petals and blue forget-me-nots!
Fear not! I will not forget thee not Harold Jackson! You ended your career, in a Run-Heavy-Era, with the 2nd most receiving yards ever! 10,372 yards for 17.9 yards per catch! Wow!!

And my Rams were a perfect 5-0!!!

1. Rams over Titans - Super Bowl 34
2. Rams over Buccaneers - NFC Championship 99 season - I was at that game and it's the loudest I've ever heard it. My ears rang for 2 days afterward. Such tension - and when Proehl caught that pass the place erupted.
3. Rams over Vikings - NFC Divisional 99 - The GSOT at its best. The first long pass to Bruce for a TD set the tone.. that was an amazing display. Score was a lot closer than the shelacking we put on them. We almost killed Jeff George.
4. Bucs over Rams - I believe it was 00 - and even though the Rams lost, it was one of the best games I've ever seen. No defense could stop the other offense and they went back and forth til the end. I think it was 38-35 - and TB had the best defense in the league supposedly. Just a lot of fun. I think that this season was the game the Rams played the Broncos too in the first game (when Holt and Hakim were sprinting down the sidelines). That was fun too.
5. Rams over Colts - 2013 - That was about as much fun as I've had as a Rams fan in about 10 years. (The Bears and Texans games last year was up there too)

I could watch these games over and over....

I'd utilize all my MacGyver skills to hack a signal to watch 2014 games I hadn't seen before. I'd also be scavenging the island's berries and grapes to ferment some booze for those game day viewings. If this all works as planned, I don't want to be rescued.

Loved that nail biter vs. the Broncos and Hakim and Holt were sprinting down the sidelines in the game to open up the 2000 season for us. That to me was the sole example of what the GSOT was.

Ewe, I went to my first Rams game that same year..Rams vs Browns in the last game of the season. I still remember being amazed that Merlin and Phil Olsen played on the same team. It was an exciting win and they finished with a 12-2 record if my memory is right...One week later, we lost in the 1st round of the playoffs :(

You are a loyal Ram and spot on! 12-2 followed by a first round exit.

We lost those 2 games by a total of 3 points, and the Rams led the NFL in scoring, averaging 27.714 points a game. The Minnesota Vikings and the Rams went into the 8th game of the season both unbeaten. The Vikings squeaked by us 10-9. Ouch! The Rams were without injured Pro Bowl running back Lawrence McCutcheon.

Harold Jackson, without a doubt, one of my all time favorite players.....1973, the first of five consecutive years as a season ticket holder. Ah, the memories.

Didn't see this game but is was the residual work from this game that started me on the Rams!!! Ya, so I would put this way up there...but still 1979 victory inthe playoffs would be above this...thanks!

I have seen every game mentioned in this thread except for the 1973 game. I have watched most games between 5-10 times...yep I am an addict....4 games a week! (I watch every time I work out). Because it is the rams, I cheat the system and hide some games. And, uh, ya, no porn.

Here are mine:
1. 1979 vs Cowboys: I have an excellent quality copy...Ferragamo and Tyler: two of my favorites to watch. Dallas was a better team, but the Rams got three long td passes (Cowboys gave up fewest during reg season). It was a sweet win because the corners and qb's were hurt all year long and the Rams fought like they never did before. Staubach was dominated by the Rams 7 DB 3rd down D....
Staubach retired after getting a concussion in that game (and his 3rd that year)...Jack reynolds did that...he is sorry now(?) prob not.
2. 2012 vs SF in Sanfrancisco: OT game with everything you would want. Rams dominated physically in the trenches. Amendoal, Jackson, Bradford and Brockers were awesome. PHYSICAL football returns after a 10 year hiatus. This tie helped us trade up for tavon...we would have lost 3 spots in the draft.
3. 2001 reg season vs patriots: Warner 401 yards passing; Bruce burning ty law. the pat db's didn't hold back then. That had to change for them to take the superwobl.
4. 1989 vs Saints; Flippers's 336 yards, Everett was throwing off his back foot, but as well as anyone every could against an incredible saint pass rush... Kevin Green jumps over a blocker to stop a 3rd & 1 was a key to the vicotry. The D was playing tough.
5. 1989 vs Giants playoffs: Great OT game; Rams played a great team on the road and beat them. John Robinson's Rams were I think
8-4 against the Giants and Bears during the 1983-1989 era...those were great teams they beat. The Rams were very physical....which surprises me because Robinson was such a sweet man.

I hide the 6th DVD in me underpants, mate:
6. 2000 vs Bucs: ya, they lost, and I didn't sleep that night....but what a thriller. This proved the Rams could pour it on anyone, and Faulk was hurt. This is the game that Martz decided Kevin Carter was a goner---he was later removed in the play off game vs the saints....(whatever)

The 7th dvd is swallowed in the form of a 32 gig SD card which has this hi def game:
7. 2014 MNF vs 49ers-Bradford mans up,and the whole team is pouring out controlled steam. 2001 Ram fans cry in joy!

The 8th DVD is from my photographic memory:
8. 1979 Bus playoff win: 440 yards on O against the #1 D in the NFC. Wendell Tyler and Kent Hill dominate...Rams beat down the Bucs. Ferragam sweet TD pass called back, but at least he threw one. 9-0, they go tot the superbowl!

Number 9, number 9, number 9: Ooops I forgot Dickerson: Ok:
9. 1986 vs Patriots (Everett's first game)

No 1999 Superbowl...it is indelled, already!

I love Steve's list but must submit 85 divisional playoff domination of the Cowboys and the official obliteration of the vaunted "Flex Defense". Man, what an OLine!

The first game in 2000 vs the Broncos was a thriller! DV was right knowing the defense needed to be retooled. Later that year was the thriller against the Bucs but since we lost, I don't want it screwing up my island.

1970 vs 49'ers. At six years old, I went to my room crying because the Niners beat us so when I found out we would play them again, I bugged my Dad every day about how many days til the game was on TV. The Niners where winning at halftime as my hatred for John Brodie continued to grow. But the Rams dominated the second half and I was both happy and relieved. Sadly, the seasons never ended well in my childhood.

Due to my Niner hatred and everything Ken Norton, the first thrashing in '99 was a catharsis of great magnitude.

Dec 28th, when the Rams both win the division and simultaneously eliminate the Seahawks from the playoffs will be a close race against beating the Niners in the NFC Championship game three weeks later.
