Woods has been eating up the middle of the field, he is great on 3rd down and Goff looks his way alot .

The fumble hurt, but Woods has been very dependable and has great hands plus he's great on and off the field, which the Rams needed and is part of McVay's plan.

That fumble was a good defensive play.

The defender came up behind and thunder punched ( Mark Schlereths words) the ball right out.

Not sure Watkins is actually the player we hoped he'd be. I'd love to see it but Woods just gets out there and gets into position to make plays. It seems to me that Watkins is just relying on skill rather than showing it.
wow, that has been a small fear eating at the back of my mind. when i first heard about the trade, I read where a lot og us were comparing it to the Barron trade or something great. But the specter of Jake Long just seemed more to fit (greatness typically isn't available for cheap).
I hope and evidence seems to support that it's Goff struggling with the deep ball.

Aj bouye is as good if not better than Ramsey. And I didn't get to watch whole Seattle game but Sherman tends to stay to one side so assuming that was the case woods and Watkins went vs both cbs. Flawed arguement at best
Sherman Shadowed watkins the majority of the game.

Ramsey is definitely the teams number 1 cb he has the speed and physicality to match up with Watkins Bouye is more of a tactician at the cb position. Don’t forget either the Seahawks and the Jags has two of the better safeties duos in the league too.

Our offense didn’t really do anything in the game mainly because special teams took some chances away from them. But if McVay give Gurley 20 rushing attempts we win that Seahawks game too

Woods reminds me a bit of a very poor mans Isaac Bruce. He's a fine player, glad he is a Ram for sure.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Sammy Watkins won't be here next year. That guy has talent, but I don't believe he has the highest football IQ. The route that he gave up on last week was his MO. He thought he was a decoy, so he gave up on the ball, and when Goff slung it, he was too late. Poor judgement. JMHO!! Rams will save a few bucks next year, and get a comp third round pick when he leaves. I am also hoping that Mike Thomas or Josh Reynolds can be the deep threat we all want.

Stupid question, but why couldn't McVay switch Woods out with watkins and have him running the same plays? It looks like every game Woods has 5-6 targets easy where he is open 10-15 yards downfield. Do you think Watkins is struggling with playbook? Or maybe his skill set maybe fits exclusively to an outside guy?

Teams or rolling coverage to Watkins side every game. Watkins is exactly what this offense needs a guy who demands a double team and allows the other WR's to get open or have one on one's. Yes McVay probably could get Watkins a little more involved with easy throws but right now Wakins is doing his job to make this offense work.

That' who I have compared him to before, and everyone who knows my love for Sir Isaac as a consummate player knows that that is very high praise indeed. He is not quite as "un-guardable" as Isaac who routinely commanded double- and triple-teaming in his prime---especially in the early days when he was our only wide receiving threat. Still, he has that knack of always being open, a tribute to his route-running brilliance.

Watkins and Tavon are doing their jobs simply by drawing coverage. It's no different than us stacking the box against Fournette.

As our offense consistently beats teams with Gurley, Woods and Kupp, defenses will adjust and Watkins and Tavon will find their place.

But they are producing in the same way a block is production.

To be fair, Woods is covered by the #2 CB while Watkins is matched up against the #1 CB; a lot of his production attributes to that. I don't think he would be as effective if covered by the likes of Sherman and Ramsey the last two weeks.

Overall, I do like the production he's given in the intermediate routes. Hope Watkins eventually brings up another game similar to the 49ers one; he's just itching to make big plays.
I would have to look at it again but I only remember them talking about Sherman being on Woods during the shecocks game so... I think that theory doesn't necessarily hold water. I think it is more dependent on who lines up where or how the defense is playing against our formations.

I feel like slapping myself right now maybe because Kupp is only a rookie for saying this, but I'm thinking Woods is my favorite WR on the roster right now! Yes I wanted to kill him during the Foreskins game but I see the most consistency and effort with him with the results as of right now. After looking him up in the off season I figured this would be the guy we got with him coming back home adding a extra umff to his effort.

That said I think in 2-3 years Kupp is going to be a f'n beast!

I think it has to do with a couple of things one there skill sets are totally different and two Watkins draws the best corner or even a double allowing Woods a bit more freedom to roam and pick on a lesser corner and he will seldom be doubled if ever.

That's what I said when the season first started.....and Watkins is a poor mans Holt Kupp is a better Ricky Proehl and Austin to me with his muffs and if they ran him down the seem a bit is a poor mans Hakim. With that being said this offense would not be as good without Watkins he is needed big time or the others would be up shits creek. He needs to resign not only would it be a loss of a very good corner but a second round pick to boot. I did catch him smiling on the bench and hopefully he is a win guy rather than a money diva I just pass me the damn ball guy. You want him to want the ball but not like an OBJ want or a Terrell Owens guy.

I'll admit Woods has exceeded all my expectations. I thought he might have been lost in this roster once we went and got Watkins. But he's a baller and fights for his targets more than anyone on this roster. He has great route running and hands. So far, very happy with that acquisition

I want to see Josh Reynolds in on some plays. If Watkins does not pan out, Josh Reynolds might be the one to step up.
