When I first moved up here, it was to Waltham. I called it "WALT-hum" for the longest time. Now "WALTH-ham" just kinda rolls off the tongue.

Of course, "Dedham" is "DED-hum" instead of "DEAD-ham" which is disappointing.

Norwood is wicked easy.

Ever notice that only Classic Rock music is played during celtic games ? That crap ain't right.

And they play pop music during the Bruins games. It is funny hearing Ozzy Osborne during a time out break at a Celtics game though, then Taylor Swift before the puck drops at a Bruins game. I think the DJ guy is messing with the teams.

All nice places. Arlington has a nice bike path and the T, but the home prices have gotten a little out of hand for all those towns. I work and live in Lexington right on the same bike path and I can bike to work from my house to work on the path. Its about 4 miles.

Arlington... I have to make a confession.

When I was in college, I worked part time for an engineering firm that did traffic studies.

One was for the city of Arlington.

Well, all I had to do was sit in my car and count (on a clicker) the number of cars that went through the interection I was assigned to.

Problem was, as a college student, I wasn't always focused on the job at hand.

So... I'd find myself listening to music (WCOZ?)... and my mind wandering... then, I'd realize I hadn't been counting.

So, I'd guess how many I might have missed and clicked that many.

So, if there are traffic lights at the silliest intersections, it just might have been me.

Haha good one BR..Only one I got correct was Wooster ;)

You should hear the tourists here try to pronounce all the Indian names around here,..Quonachataug gets em every time
There's a major street in a suburb near where I live named Cowesett. I thought it was pronounced cow-a-set. It's pronounced ca-wee-set. When I moved here I lived near there and when I was trying to get directions I could never find it because I totally pronounced it wrong and kept looking for the wrong street

Also looking in West Roxbury and Roslindale. W. Roxbury is kinda spiraling out of control, too.

I went to Boston about 10 years ago...it was cold, wet, crowded, traffic laden, cold, cold, and it was also very cold, but I did stop in at the Cheers bar and I'm told that I had a great time by total strangers that became very good friends that still call me today (y) They don't like it when I tease them about deflated balls but hey! it is what it is...lol

Wait a minute....WCOZ was one of the greatest Rock stations ever! Now you are pulling out some history. Must of listened to WBCN too. Boston now has no music on the radio.....just sports talk radio, there is 1 rap station and 2 pop music stations and if you live in NH there is a country station somewhere on the dial lol.

There is a misconception that Boston people are jerks. But if you are from out of town and go to any pub or bar in the area you will make friends very easily. Boston bar are very friendly and welcome all. I will admit the same does not apply to the night club folks, they suck!
