Ass hurt St.Louis fans and overly sensitive LA fans who can't handle hearing the same crap that was piled on the St.Louis fans.

Human nature shows that people prefer to bitch and moan rather than to be positive. Even after a big win they'll find something to nitpick at. :palm:

I bet somewhere in Cleveland right about now there's some really old Ram's fan still complaining about the Rams moving out of town in 1945.

The truth is, there's no need to create drama by starting threads like these. Are we men or children? Are we fans or not?

The Rams kicked ass in their opener and topics like this are important?
IMO stadium and attendance "discussion" is useless discussion meant to stir it up and create pissing contests between fans of cities(i never understood that part but i digress).

Don't live in Los Angeles or even California. Don't live in Missouri or St Louis. Don't give a damn who does or doesn't. We don't need threads that start a pissing contest to relive all the crap we went through during that mess. Also I made my opinion perfectly clear during that mess. Attacking St Louis fans or Los Angeles fans for perceived attendance was garbage and something we don't need. It's childish and pointless we all root for the same team. If anybody can't live with the city the team is in or was in they've got bigger issues than how many butts were in seats on last Sunday.

It looked pretty poor, but I had a feeling that was going to happen when my Rams app gave me an alert that tickets could be have for 10 bucks on Sunday morning lol..

Honestly though, it's not shocking too me at all. Given the size of the stadium, and the fact that a lot of tickets aren't even available to purchase, it'll never look full, because it'll never be full... Aside from that this weekend LA football fans had a choice. Watch USC play against a premier team on Saturday night? Or watch the Rams play against a dumpster fire team in the heat on Sunday afternoon? I get the feeling it'll be significantly easier to sell tickets once they have their new stadium, where it'll be a lot more pleasant to watch the team play. Open air feeling, but nice and cool still, sleek, more space, nicer seats, etc...

It's similar to the Forum and Staples Center... Yeah, the Forum is cool, it's old and fun and has history, but Staples Center is so much better, there's more stuff to do now with LA Live there, the arena is nicer, it's just better. The Coliseum is cool for the history of it, but fact is, the venue isn't a fun place to watch a day football game in Los Angeles. It's sunny, it's hot, yuck. It doesn't look good, but I don't think that's going to be an issue next week. We averaged 80+K last year. This is the first week that the Rams played a home game the same week as USC... USC also posted their highest attendance in a few seasons.. Coincidentally the Rams posted their lowest attendance numbers. I think that when the Rams have to compete with USC, they're not going to win, at least not yet.

View attachment 21508 we were there. all the pics of empty seats are on the north side of the stadium the south side was pretty full. stadium is huge so it makes it look empty when 30 of the 90k don't show up. it was hot as hell too.
I think those empty seats are on purpose at that end of the field. They closed it off for this year.

60,000 in St. Louis should be 360,000 in LA.

Where do you get the "smallest fan base" from? LA metro area has 6 times the population of the St. Louis metro area. Moving to LA was supposed to solve that too. In the 2015 season opener in St. Louis....a season in which the fans were told the team was moving.....the attendance was nearly 52,000.

I was in no way bagging on LA. If you feel fans not showing up and someone pointing that out is bagging...then damn, good thing I keep my thoughts on the whole situation pretty close and quiet.

I was simply trying to see if there were that few people or if it was because it's so big. I've never been there. But on TV, it looked like crap and we looked like we have zero following.
I think he's referring to the crap bnw was spewing.

There were a lot of empty seats. I was disappointed by the turnout.

But if you recall right, we were at the last season opener in the Lou and the attendance was abissmal. Understandably so but still there were more shecocks fans than Rams fans. But we shut them the hell up that day - before, during, and after that game.

Still... that attendance for a season opener was very disappointing. Much like them claiming 53,000 for that game in the Lou, I call bullshit on the 60,000 figure for this game.

Regardless... it is what it is. The Coliseum has a bad rap because it is not modern. But trust me. It is a VERY cool place to watch a game if you are not one who wants a wine spritzer with your cushy seat. It says FOOTBALL.

The fans in LA wI'll start showing up. Honestly... with all that goes on down there, I would hazard to guess that many don't even think about them yet. The millions in the area are not frequenting football sites. The Rams are going to have to start making some news first. No excuse.... just the way it is. But that is on the Rams. They need to make that happen.

Jesus, I wish I hadn't even started this thread. Ass hurt St.Louis fans and overly sensitive LA fans who can't handle hearing the same crap that was piled on the St.Louis fans.

The truth is the truth, doesn't matter what city it's in. Fact is, stadium looked empty as freak. I didn't notice it last year.

LA fans can't get pissy when it's pointed out and act like giant freaking babies.

St.Louis fans need to realize the crap happened, move on, I have. No amount of bitching will change it.

We are all Rams fans. Who gives a crap where the city is. Games are better from home anyway.

As much as I tried to ignore this thread now I feel compelled to point out a couple of things (at great risk of being labeled pissy and a giant freaking baby?)

1) of course you know about the 90k plus capacity

2) while I'll agree at kick off there were around say... 45-50k seated the place did eventually fill to about 2/3 full, that's plus 60k on a very hot afternoon with a very mediocre Colts team as the opponent

I dunno 60k plus granted ain't nothing to write home about however...that would have practically filled their previous venue

"Shirley" you did notice the fashionably late arrivals?

Cest la vie, these Rams are gonna draws the crowds back soon enough,

Carry on

OK... this idiot clearly was not at that game in '15. I was as were several members here. If there were 52,000 people there then they were invisible. Again. Like with this opener, I was very upset by the attendance. But this LA vs St Louis crap has to end. We are all Rams fans here. Period.

We'll see. Rams are going to kill it many seasons to come, and they are going to have problems accomodating the swarm of fans. Win and they shall come.

Others said it better. The place is enormous. I doubt there were really 60,000 people there, to my eye that's about what 50,000 looks like.

It looked like an 'SC game in the '90s when the program had been pretty dull for a decade.

It wasn't a good look but understandable as others have said. This is precisely why the Chargers should be seen as rivals as per my post in that thread.

The Rams need to win to get fans on board and stop them looking at the Chargers and thinking I want some of that.

Sure, fashionably late arrivals--that's feverishly left after 3rd quarter.

I agree with @RamFan503 here, the Thordaddy game did not sell out and it was embarrassing. But that was one of their excuses to leave. It was constantly brought up.

So here we are, season two in LA, and the fans are not showing up. If you think there were 60k fans in there, you must be from Colorado, cause the shit your smoking is high grade and makes you see double.

I've never been to that stadium, I've never watched a USC game unless it was a bowl game. I have no clue the size of the stadium. In the 4th quarter I texted my good friend @rdlkgliders and asked about attendance. He said people left. To me, it didn't seem like many were there from the beginning.

I'm not counting the end zone areas, I assumed they closed those off, and I don't expect the Rams to sell out like USC would.

For me, the question was simple. Where were the fans? I didn't see them on tv, I was asking simply, were they not there, or was the massive size of the place making it seem that way.

Sorry I didn't take much notice of the seating arrangements during the game - I was watching the Rams dissect the Colts - #GoRams

But, if the stands are empty, it's probably due to the fact that the Rams were dire last season, very vanilla.

Yeah, like I said I have no ill will to LA fans and I don't blame anyone for not going to the game. I have vehemently disagreed with almost every decision ownership has made since they came into power until this offseason so I have no problem with people not giving them money lol. It's just frustrating being someone who had to defend themselves against attendance issues years ago and now seeing the exact same excuses being used. I understand the Dodgers are good, the Cardinals were almost always in the postseason, if not the world series, every year the Rams were awful here. It had a negative effect I'm sure. The weather was bad at times, the mustard/ketchup Thursday night game was icy and miserable from what I remember. etc etc etc. And that is not directed at anyone here on this forum at all. Just a general frustration for what some of us went through. Only to see the same excuses being used and defended for here. And again, that's not ill will towards anyone using them now because like I said I have no problem with people not wanting to go to the game after the last decade plus of futility.

Just.... frustrating is the best word to use I guess. Makes me have to vent it some where. Just bear with me please. lol.
