How did you become a Ram fan and when? And what was the first Rams game (date) you remember watching?

My stepfather is from L.A. and I live and have grown up in New Mexico. I was 8 when he came around in '88 and started wearing Rams gear but and watched games without some interest. The game I specifically remember as my first was the Giants-Rams playoff game in '89 where Flipper Anderson caught that TD from Everett and ran straight into the tunnel and I remember asking " Where did he go? Why did he run off? Is he coming back?" lol

Haha nice. I wish I had been able to see that game live (I wasn't born until 4 years later). I have seen the highlights of the game though. Flipper was pretty fun to watch. Even in a passing league his 336 yards on MNF against New Orleans will never be broken

I became a Rams fan in 1962, although it was already in my blood (my dad and grandpa were Rams fans going back to the Cleveland days). The first game I remember watching would have been the Rams beating the 49ers 28-14. I remember seeing those horns & I was hooked forever. I think that was the only game they won that year, and I went to the last game of the season against the Packers, and I thought I was in heaven(even though we lost. Pretty sure I saw most of the games that year with my dad, but the first that I can remember was the 49er game. Ten years old and I wanted to grow up to be a Ram.

GO RAMS!!!!

Great story rickrawk! The first Rams game I watched from start to finish was Rams vs 49ers week 2 in 2003. They won the game in OT, thanks to Garcia not being able to spike the ball in time for the 9ers game winning FG. As you know the Rams went on to go 12-4 that year. I had been pulled in prior to 2003 by seeing the GSOT on TV and playing as Marshall Faulk in Madden 2003, but 2003 is the first year I watched every game. As a 10 year old I didn't know how hard it is to the playoffs; they went the first 2 years I watched every game and haven't been since... Hope that ends this year. Go Rams!

I became a Rams fan when I moved to the US, I wanted to learn about the sport and my neighbor had an old copy of madden that he let me borrow, and I randomly picked a team to practice with, and it was the Rams. Got hooked on the sport and the team right away... I missed all the glory days though, right as the GSOT was falling apart.. First Rams game I saw was Week 1 against the Giants, Warner fumbled in the end zone and Bulger came in and that was that. Got to see Bulger give us the one great season, and got to watch McDonald race down the field to beat the Seachickens for one of our 3 wins against them that year (first 8-8 team to win a playoff game!) and lots of poor play... But I've loved them from the start, always been drawn to them.

I'm from St. Louis and became a fan in 1994 when they announced they were moving to St. Louis. I don't live there (I now live in Patriots land), but I've become a loyal fan. People here ask me if I'm going to become a Pariots fan now. I tell them HHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLL NO

The first Rams game I remember watching was the Rams vs niners in 76. My Grandad was a diehard niner fan and wanted me to follow in his footsteps. But every time we watched the Rams games the Rams seemed to win more than they lost and the niners always lost. So I was a bandwagon fan at the age of 8. Never thought of rooting for any other team. Ive seen some good, some great and a lot of not so good or not so great.

Late 50's for me, delivered newspapers and always kept one to read sports section. The end of Jaguar Jon Arnetts brief career, but the start of the awesome Del Shofner and side kick, Red Phillips..Was there to see Tricky Dick Bass at the start of great career, all with losing teams, (sigh)

It was the mid 70's for me, I was searching for a team to follow and I saw the rams kick the Shyte out of the cowboys and that made me follow them ever since. Also Jack Youngblood is my favorite football player of all time.

It was 1973 for me. I was 6 years old.

Back then, we lived in Pearl City, HI (Oahu). In the 70's, kids used to have to wait until Saturday mornings to watch cartoons... there was no such thing as Cartoon Network. As great as the cartoons were on Saturdays,,, Sunday mornings for me were even more exciting because in HI, the LA Rams were considered the "Home" team. 1:00 in LA was still Sunday Morning Hawaiian time. So I was very fortunate to start many of my Sundays during football season with the Rams on TV. I was addicted right away even though my Pops is a dolphin fan.

I don't remember the first game I watched, but I really only ever wanted to watch the Rams. I watched every chance I could. I have a distinct memory of my love of the Rams starting at that young age. My parents have a bunch of pics of my little Haole ass glued to the TV watching them as well. I had the fortune of having the Rams start my Sunday mornings for 8 years.

I've been to a bunch of Ram games through the years. They all have great memories in their own way. Probably my fav was the 79 NFC Championship ... my Grandfather surprised me with that one back here at home in FL.

became a Rams fan in 1978 after reading the book "Something For Joey" John Cappeletti's little brother who had leukemia and how John dedicated every game to him while at Penn State and then drafted by the Rams. I was 12 then, going on 13

Well I was born in 1991 and started getting into football pretty quickly. My dad was a Cowboys, Steelers, and Rams fan growing up and when I was about 7 years old we watched a Rams game and they just caught my eye and I liked them alot. Probably the jersey's, or the helmets.. but I just decided to follow them and I've been a die hard fan ever since. I live in Northern Illinois so I'm trapped in Bears and Packers country haha.

The Rams were "my team " back in the Hirsh days because there was no St.Louis pro team when the Cardinals moved to St.L from Chi I slowly became a Cards fan but still likeed the Rams.
After Charlie Johnson went to Denver from here I became a Bronco fan and was pretty well primarily a fan of theirs after the Cards moved.
I had made every home game of the Cards including pre season for 10 years but didn't use my last season tickets after they announced their relocation plans.

When the Rams moved here it rekindled my old days affinity.
Roman Gabriel, George Allen ,all the old heads liked em all, but I guess I becamea "real" fan when they returned the love and came to me.

I became a fan in about Week 5 of the 1999 season. I had gotten into the NFL a couple of years before that and would watch all the games on Sundays. However, being from Montreal, I had no local team to follow and root for.

In 1999, when Kurt Warner took over for an injured Trent Green and the Rams took the NFL by surprise, I became infatuated with this underdog QB who was leading such an explosive offense. I decided the Rams would be MY team and I've stuck with them ever since.

I'm happy to have been able to cheer for the Rams through two amazing Super Bowls. I've been lucky to see the greatness of Warner, Faulk, Holt, Bruce, Aeneas Williams, London Fletcher, Orlando Pace, Steven Jackson and many more since I became a fan in 1999.

The last few years have been tough, but I truly believe we finally have a savvy management and coaching regime that will guide the Rams to the promised land. At the very least, it seems like we will have an exciting offense for the first time in many years. There will never be another Greatest Show on Turf, but I am excited to see Bradford, Austin, Quick, Bailey, Cook, Pead, Richardson, Stacy, etc. in the next few years.

It feels good to be a fan again.

I think that I became a Rams fan in 1999 when I was eight. My dad was once a Cardinals fan when they had been in St. Louis, but he became a Rams fan when they went to St. Louis and he had given up on football (I think part of that is because he never wanted to support anyone with the last name of Bidwell again). I went to the Saints game in that season, and I was hooked. I was overjoyed when we beat the Titans to win that Super Bowl.

And then, after 2001...the dream turned into a nightmare. Yeah, we went to the playoffs a few years, but after 2006...other than Steven Jackson, Torry Holt, and a few other players (like Tinoisamoa, who was my favorite), we had nothing to watch. I kept watching because, hey, they were my team, but I grew more pessimistic about our chances. I was far from the optimist you guys are seeing today. But when we got Sam Bradford...yeah, I changed my tune. I wanted him so badly when he was at Oklahoma and he throttled Mizzou. Got sick of RamStalk at around the same time...so when I heard about this site, I moved in, and it's been my go-to site ever since.

Since birth on 12/04/1980 literally. I guess my Dad decided his son would leave the hospital in a Rams beanie and jacket while my mom lost on Forty Whiners gear. I have the photo somewhere and when its found will have to scan and upload. I still have the SI issue w/ Vince Ferragamo on the cover.
