Anyone got a special "toy" on your list?

How about a cool gift planned for a family member?

A bottle of bourbon is all I need.
I love watching my kids open gifts. They just turned 3 and are at the point where they actually know what's going on.
I love to cook on the holidays. I'm looking forward to some great food.

not a damn thing to be honest

wifey and I talked about it the other day and decided just to give to charities. We usually do the charity thing anyway, matching whatever we spend on each other, we would donate the same amount to some charity. This year we have "adopted" 2 needy families and will take go shopping for them instead.

My wife is getting me this:

1755124

I'm getting her hair extensions and a full-day spa treatment.
Then ... when she gets back ... I can look at my watch and say, "You know what time it is now?"

BOOM.

My grandfather passed away about 6 weeks ago. I went ahead and got (and gave early) my grandmother a Kindle Fire HD 7. I had a good month at work, and figured something to distract her a little would be a good thing.

Lots of great comments in this thread. This one feels like what Christmas is about.

Man... Enjoy those 3yr olds, Dodgers... Everyone says they grow up fast and I wish I had slowed down a little more when my daughter was that age.

That's about as admirable as could be. Awesome!

PS: anyone with a cool gift please don't let this stop you from chiming in!

Im 46 now. I realize how fast 20 yrs can go by. If I was in my 20 ' s, I may have taken the time for granted.

I smother them, when their not smothering me.

That's awesome! Hats off to you, my friend!

So... What do 3yr olds get for Christmas these days?

Learning tablets by leapfrog. They're great with numbers and the alphabet already. I want to keep giving them options to keep them motivated. If you can make learning fun for anyone they learn quicker.
Educational toys have come a long way. Though flash cards are still a big hit with them. They're to the point where they're drilling me with them. I try to give them the wrong answer at times , but they always call me on it.

With 2 kids of my own and a few nephews and nieces, it REALLY is more about giving for me. I love watching them open their gifts. I pride myself on getting the kids the most awesome gifts of anyone, LOL.

As for myself. Honestly, I just ask for things I can use around the house. This year I'm hoping to get a good quality rice/food steamer. Need to start eating healthy and this will HOPEFULLY help in that regard.
