Merlin suggested that the Cowboys are looking hard at Lynch in preparation to make a trade with the Rams so the Rams get Goff and give up their first and a second rounder.

Do you like that idea or just sit at 15, don't give up any picks and take Lynch?

If it were to only take a 2nd to move up to get Goff, that would be more than fine.

I doubt that will be the case, but hypothetically - get 'er done!

Dallas might want Foles too for their backup depth. It's a deal breaker for many, I know, but still he might "sweeten" the pot... :D

What's in it for Dallas?
So Dallas can stay and take a much better QB prospect or 3rd best position player in the class. They can trade the pick to SF for more and still get a top 7 player plus SF's 2nd and maybe a later pick.
Or they can trade it to the Rams with no guarantee that Lynch would be there, have to take a much less position player and be happy with a 2nd,
Jones is not the brightest bulb in the box but really.

No NFC team will be looking to make Rams better with fair trades. They look at Gurley and the Rams D and know that if the Rams get a QB they will be perennial Div. champs. Then they have to compete with Sea. and Zona in wildcard race.

Coaches and GM's keep their jobs by making the playoffs and not making it easier for other teams to.

Yes do it now, though I hope its a trade uo for Wentz.
do deal w/ Cowboys, then make the most important move and move up to #1...Lets Go Snead!!!

Edit: Tenn would lose out on Ramey but would be fine getting LT Old Miss plus extra pick(s)
Edit2: Maybe ramsey still there at 4.. Thats the kings ransom Tenn is looking for

True. I've been suggesting #15, #43 and #45 for #4 and maybe a token late pick or two, since they have more picks than they likely would be able to fit on their roster - and the draft point value would still favor them. This way they can get a developmental QB fairly high, and still have 3 other picks in the top 45 of a deep defensive draft to fill holes. But you're right - a realistic trade is one likely to leave both sides a little upset about what they gave up, and happy about what they received.

No other likely trade partner can give the Cowboys what the Rams could in terms of number of fairly high picks.

Reverse it, If the Rams had #4 would you trade down to #15 and take a lesser developmental prospect just to get a couple more later picks?
Remember Dallas QB situation isn't really much better than the Rams since Romo is old and can not stay on the field. Long term it might work but they might need who they draft to play in the 2nd quarter of the first game.

And again what guarantees is there that Lynch will still be there for Dallas. They would have to be happy with whatever at 15 and take a long shot at QB in the 2nd.
Dallas if it had a brain grabs which QB is left at #4 and be happy.

Good point
4 to 15 is a big drop

I wouldn't pass on the QB at #4 - but there's been a lot of speculation that the Cowboys really want to roll with Romo for a couple of more years. Which means that it makes sense for them to go after a developing QB, and then fill in holes to make a Super Bowl run in 2016. The Cowboys aren't going to get several 2nd rounders to do that from any other team.

Where do I sign?
Lynch and his high ceiling does seem a good fit for Dallas.
I didn't think Dallas wanted a QB per se, I thought they wanted Wentz after coaching him in the Senior Bowl
But a move up to 4? That would be awesome, unless San Diego sand bags the whole thing by trading #3 to San Fran
