Don't blame their fanbase for being positive and upbeat about their chances of beating the Rams, but Fisher's Rams have a habit of winning games they're not supposed to.

It's Jeff Fisher's nightmare week

View: https://twitter.com/RotoPat/status/803462098055557120

59-0 vs. the Titans
45-7 vs. the Rams (in London)

Hopefully after Fisher gets fired, he can get a job in the AFC East, ideally to replace Bowles.

Rams need to go 3-2 the rest of the way to finish their customary 7-9.
----------
He sure has nice hair though..

Jeff Fischer, Marvin Lewis, Rex Ryan, John Fox and a few others should never be allowed to coach in the NFL again.. incompetence trumps experience.
---------
Fisher has 163 coaching losses ( 2 behind Dan Reeves for most ever)...Too bad he can't tie the record Sunday..
----------
Rams have a heck of a front 4, prob the best in the league. They'll need to get Brady quick if they have any chance of winning.
----------
It's all based on Donald. If the Pats keep Donald from dry humping Brady, they may be able to hang a 40burger on the Rams.
--------
Hope one of our media members ask him on today's conference call what was so damn funny about Rodney Harrison getting cheap shotted when we played them and knocked out for the playoffs in 2006. Scumbag coach hiding behind his Competition Committee membership gets a free pass at everything.
--------
Fischer is currently in a spat with Eric Dickerson, who has said some unkind things about the Rams performance. Apparently Fischer told the Rams Hall of Famer that they players are "uncomfortable" with Dickerson being allowed in their sideline during games. So Dickerson said fine, I won't come to another Rams game as long as you are the head coach.

Granted I doubt Dickerson will have to stay away long to keep that promise, but still, dumb move by Fischer.

Eric Dickerson’s words regarding Jeff Fisher don’t mesh with Dickerson’s actions
----------
It would be nice to win by 73-3
-----------
We are not a complete team yet. By that I mean we are not working on all cylinders on offense and still need to get better on defense. I am not expecting Pats to be #1 on Offense and Defense but we need to get better overall.

I am ok putting up with torture that is our defense for 60 mins if they give up 17 points or less each game and hope offense plays well enough to score more points. There are some games we know we can win but the way we are playing now, I wouldn't take any game for granted.

I hope our O-Line plays well against the stout D-line of Rams. This will tell us a lot about how we can handle defenses like Denver, Kansas City and Seattle in playoffs.
---------
That DL has as many sacks as and less hurries than the Pats DL and the Pats DL doesn't have Aaron Donald.
---------
Well seeing that they've given up

28 points to the 49ers
32 to the Buccs
30 to the Bills
31 to the Lions
49 to the Saints
---------
That's why the Pats can never beat his teams badly enough for me. I'd be aware of some cheap shots this week too. If the Pats see any, the OL should be instructed to dish out some payback and end Aaron Donald's career.
----------
I wouldn't wish any injuries to the players but I hope one of our hard hitting defenders runs into Jeff Fisher trying to tackle one of their receivers :D
----------
Just win and no Patriot injuries.......

The games they should run away with usually are sphincter tighteners.........
---------
I honestly think he has something majorly bad on someone high up in the league...i just cannot understand why he still has a job it really makes no sense. Like marvin lewis i understand hes been at the same place and clearly the bengals ownership do not care about mediocrity but Fisher has had multiple jobs and sucked everywhere he goes. Like maybe for the Rams to move to LA they had to keep Fisher as head coach. I DUNNO
----------
My concern this week is not about winning. I assume the Pats win. I don't don't want Aaron Donald to get any hard shots on Brady. Andrews did okay vs Atkins though.
----------
Fisher was probably an ideal coach to have for a franchise that was moving and had zero Super Bowl expectations this year since he had experience presiding over a team that moved in the past.
-----------
Never count out the Rams, they can win any game anywhere. As soon as you think they are out they pull out a shocker.
----------
Since 2009 Jeff Fisher is 45-61 with zero playoff appearances. He hasn't had a winning season since 2008 or won a playoff game in 14 years.

That is beyond terrible.
--------
What I want to see is the Pats OL play well and the DL get pressure. IF those 2 units win I will be happy and feel like they made a positive step forward even if vs an overall bad team.
----------
Since 2001, rookie quarterbacks playing in Foxboro have averaged 201.9 passing yards and a 51.7 passer rating with just four touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
----------
Tough Defense. Happy this one is at home.
-----------
Not sure you can call it a tough defense when they just gave up 49 points and 555 yards. Ya it was the Saints, but still.
---------
Tough defense? Yep, it'll be a nightmare for Goff to deal with our defense. I like TB12's chances against the Rams defense. Yep, they got a well-respected line, but not much else. We have the right players and coaches to deal with a good D line.

Morons. If any player in the NFL ever deserved to get knocked the fuck out it was Harrison. It's just a shame his career lasted as long as it did.

But no reason any of them shouldn't expect to win this week. Especially after last weeks embarrassment. Would be nice to see Brady get knocked around a lot and hopefully Goff builds on his first half performance last week. But knowing our luck Goff will probably get injured on a Chris Long sack.

Wasn't it Harrison who injured Trent Green during the preseason, which initiated the rise of Kurt Warner and the GSOT?

Yes it was. That dirty POS ckskr (some letters may have been omitted) dove right at Green's knees, totally unnecessary.

Think he also was voted on - by the players - as the NFL's dirtiest player multiple times.

I'll try to say this delicately ... but sodomize Rodney Harrison with Satan's barbed member ...

I haven't heard who is going to officiate this game, but I expect the Rams to get screwed by whoever it is. With Rams buzzard luck it will be Jeff Tripplet=:poop:

First time in my life that I hope we get throttled. Like 50-28. While Goff throws 4 touchdowns. More losses means closer to Fisher getting fired.

We will win this game. Here is why,

There D line can not generate an ounce of pressure. They will not be able to expose our weakness on the oline.
They can not cover. Butler is having a decent year but it beatable and Logan Ryan is trick or treat. Austin should be able to expose the middle. They miss Collins, Hightower struggles in coverage at the LB spot.
Goff will throw for 300 yards.
The only time NE can generate any pressure is by blitzing. If they rush 4 we just need to take what the defense give and they will give. If they blitz, Goff showed in college and in his 2 starts he can beat the blitz. Belicheck typically makes young QB's beat them with long drives. Goff should have plenty of time to go through his progressions.

On defense,
There oline is as bad as ours. They will however not allow Donald to beat them. Someone will have to step up.
Gronk is hurt, I will expect to see him stay in and chip and block on Donald.
Brady is as good as they come but if we can generate some pressure which I expect we will he can be contained.

Rams win 26-24.

You make some good points. I actually think we match up well with them. We're built very similar to the Seahawks. Brady does well against the blitz, but when he's pressured consistently he can fall apart just like any QB. Our front 4 must have the game of their lives.

I know you wont be saying that after #99 decapitates Tom Brady

"If" we somehow win this game I would be super happy that we finally got our payback for getting robbed in Super Bowl XXXVI. A W on this game will be sweet.

I have no idea what to expect.

We could win. I mean, we have a tendency of playing to the level of our opponent.

We could keep it close, and it goes either way. That's how we've played most of this year.

We could get blown out. Morale must be sagging and the Patriots can put up a lot of points.

Either way... I'll be here Sunday rooting us on.

Yep, It's Boger's Crew!!

Just as bad. The Rams OL will be penalized all game long for far less than what the cheatriots will be getting away with. If a Rams DL gets pulled down, its like he just fell on his own, had nothing to do with 310lb OL dragging him to the ground. But if a ne DL trips over his own feet, he must have been held and thrown down by the OL. But no matter how many times I've watched this, I will continue to do whatever I have to, to watch it again.

geez!

Welp...I remember when I wanted to beat Dallas...when they we're pretty good with a guy named Staubach...I remember wishing to throttle the Steelers and a QB named Bradshaw. I remember rooting to kill Joe Theisman & Jim McMahon...this week, it's all about knocking the shit out of Brady, and AD is our best chance. I hope Quinn continues to get a lil better every week.

We're On To The Rams

The last two times the Pats played against a Jeff Fisher led team the Pats outscored them 104-7.

Jeff Fisher needs 3 losses to be the all time leader in losses. We'll make it 2.

Point spread: The Patriots opened as 13.5-point favorites; the total was 46 early in the week, according to sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark (line updates and matchup report).
NFL pick, via Odds Shark computer: 35.4-10.4 Patriots (NFL picks on every game)

Why the Rams can cover the spread
The Rams will give rookie quarterback Jared Goff his third straight start, and they have already seen a big improvement from his first to his second NFL game despite losing 49-21 to the New Orleans Saints as 7.5-point road underdogs last Sunday.

Goff kept Los Angeles in the game in the first half at New Orleans with three touchdown passes, which is three more than he had overall in his debut at home versus the Miami Dolphins the previous week. There was little pressure on him to beat the Saints, and that should be the case again opposite future Hall of Famer Tom Brady and the Patriots this week.

Why the Patriots can cover the spread
New England has won the past four meetings with Los Angeles SU to go along with a 4-1 mark against the spread in the last five. The Rams are also just 2-5 SU and ATS in their previous seven games against teams with winning records, with the Patriots continuing to battle the Oakland Raiders for the top seed in the AFC.

New England just played a rough stretch with four of five games on the road and closes out the season with three of five at home, including two straight.

Smart pick
The Patriots do not have a lot of motivation to blow out the Rams in this spot, as they simply need a victory here so they can move on and host the Baltimore Ravens in their next game. Surprisingly, they are an unlucky 1-8-1 ATS in their last 10 games played in Week 13, which should not be too shocking considering the team is more focused on stockpiling wins than going for style points at this time.
That being said, take lowly Los Angeles to cover the spread on the NFL lines behind Goff and a stronger defensive effort.

Betting trends
The Rams are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against the Patriots.
The total has gone over in six of the Patriots' last eight games at home.
The Patriots are 1-8-1 ATS in their last 10 games in Week 13.
---------
Weather shouldn't be a factor unless the Rams don't like it a bit chilly, Sunny with temps in the mid-40's.
----------
West Coast team flying east for a 1:00 kickoff.

My guess is that Pats go up big early, the Rams pack it in, and the final score will be high-30's to low-teens.
--------
The Rams have a rookie QB who they disliked so much they made him ride the pine until they pretty much had no choice. They score the least points in the NFL. They're coming all the way east. It's in Gillette.

If the Patriots don't sweep the leg here by 21, I will have little faith they can win the Super Bowl this year.
-------
Normally I would agree, but if they're up by 4 TDs early in the second half and start pulling starters while playing a soft zone and allow the Rams a couple garbage time TDs to make it closer I'm not going to freak. This game shouldn't be competitive in any way.
---------
This feels like one of those games that I can afford to miss and get something else done on the property.

But nothing can keep me from watching the game, especially with TFB having a chance to claim the all time wins mark by a QB.
---------
That's how most of us felt about the Philly game last year.

image.gif

----------
Philly was not averaging only 14 ppg on offense like this rams team is nor were they flying across the country, so I guess if the Rams score 3 td's on something other than the offense like philly did, then maybe they have a shot.
-------
Is it appropriate to note that Jeff Fisher and Gregg Williams are douchecanoes here?

Payton really shoved it up their ass last Sunday, talk about running up the score.
---------
Since BB and Asshole Face are buddies it wouldn't surprise me if BB runs up the score for good measure.

The one thing I always worry about with Fisher coached teams is dirty underhanded injury causing plays. Eff Fisher.
-----
They'll be going for TB's leg all day.....Just wait.
-------
Fvck him! When BB has TB take a knee to end the game when inside the 5 it is respect to the coach. 56-0 shows there is no respect. I hope BB runs the score up so high that Asshole Face calls him and says, "Dude, that was out of line."
---------
this^^^

eff Jeff Fisher. How he continues to get coaching jobs in this league is beyond me.
-------
He was a pretty good coach
(over a dozen years ago)

shrug_n.gif

---------
Kevin Demoff suggests Jeff Fisher will be back
---------
Thanks for posting that, bid. I too get a chuckle whenever someone suggests that Fisher is a good coach.

And after reading it, I realized that the Rams COO is incorrect.

It's not true that "No coach has had to deal with an actual relocation" - in fact, the Rams current coach, Jeff Fisher, was the coach of the Houston Oilers when that franchise moved to Tennessee and became the Titans.

If there's any coach in the league that should have been able to prepare his team for the move, it's Fisher.

A clueless COO and a clueless coach. A good match for that franchise.
--------
This is glorious

Cyhjp92WEAARxZi.jpg

---------
No Brady, no Gronk, and no Edelman at practice today.

---------
Honestly? I'd consider letting all three ride the pine this week. I mean, it's the fricking Rams. They should be able to beat them at Gillette with Garop. Better to let those guys heal fully for the stretch run vs. putting them out there at 50% against the Rams and having them get injured worse.
----------
I'd hate to see them get further injured against the hapless nonconference Rams in lieu of competing 100% in those important four conference games.
--------
No game is a gimme in the NFL. Without Brady, we lose to the 1-10 niners. We need every game right now to get that top seed. If the players can go then they should go. It's football. No games off in Dec.
---------
I still say that the final four games are WAY harder and WAY more important than the shitty and NFC-based Rams. If Brady comes out for the Rams and throws three touchdowns and then gets hurt worse and the Pats beat the Rams by 28 but then lose the last four, I'll have to kick some small children.
---------
There is a reason why Jeff Fisher is soon to be the all-time losingest coach in NFL history and his record may never be broken. That is one hell of a legacy.

How that guy still has a job in this league is beyond comprehension.
---------
Actually, a successful coach could accumulate a Fisher-like loss total. After all, Fisher has only one more loss than Tom Landry, who is in the Hall Of Fame.

A coach that coaches for 32 years and wins 60% of his games will have over 200 losses. Winning 60% of your games means most years are 9-7 or 10-6.

The reason that Shula and Halas (who each coached for more than 32 years) don't have the loss record is that they won far more than 60% of their games (and there were fewer games in a season, too).
