As much as George Allen did for the Los Angles Rams I was 12 years old in 1978 and wanted Walsh. Rosenbloom loved Walsh, but Walsh wanted to be GM as well and Rosenbloom was attached to Don Klosterman and for good reason. In the end, IMO, Walsh would have accepted the job, but Rosenbloom went with Allen because of his record against the Dallas Cowboys only to fire him after two preseason games and as to Bill Walsh, well, you know the rest of the story!
