Whe I first looked at the Line, on Tuesday, it was -5, and Now you say it's -6 1/2. It sounds like the Bookies are paying attention the Brown's Blog-o-sphere!!:rolllaugh:

Hope the Rams have a great day on offense so the defense catches a break! Big win over the brownies!

I never pay much attention to bookies odds on sports games. I just want to see the Horns establish that dominating rush game. I note how in the first quarter of the Cards & Pack games, their D would stop TGII for little or no yards. As the quarters roll on, however, the 0-2 yard gains turn into 3-4 yarders, then into 5-6 yard gains. And the big gainers come more & more frequently as the quarters progress.

Conclusion? This young kid is punishing the hell out of some very, very good defenses. . . with a knee brace on!!! What happens when he plays defenses not as good? What happens when he runs sans brace?

I still am trying to get a feel for all he can do because I haven't seen him run in the NFL sans brace; I haven't really seen him catching the ball on a regular basis, which is another dimension left to explore. In other words, what happens when a guy who can run over NFL LB's and outrun NFL DB's catches the ball in the open field? When defenses have to adjust to guard TGII the receiving back, how will this affect the coverage on Tavon and the other receivers?

COPING MECHANISM

I have had a little Browns Troll in my home office for 25 years or so. Today I turned his face to the wall.

He doesn't get turned back around until they field something I am proud to say are the Cleveland Browns.

Oh come on...

Name him JoBoo, light him a cigar and give him a shot of rum. Take thirteen shots of rum for yourself. Now THAT'S a "coping mechanism".
--------
My coping mechanism usually has me asleep around 4:30-5 PM, and I don't remember falling asleep or various parts of the game. It works pretty well.
-------
Workouts, yard work, seeking out others in misery (this board, post game radio, etc.), and possibly alcohol. Taking down the Browns flag.

It all makes me feel better.

So you have had this little piece of $hit for 25 years, and the Browns have been awful for 19-21 of them and gone for 3? And you think turning it around will solve the problem. Sounds to me like that Effer IS the problem. He has to go. (Out of curiosity- do you know what happened 26 seasons ago? The Browns last AFC title game. Perennial contenders until that little thing came into your life.)

AARON DONALD

DT was a position of need in 2014, and Donald was skyrocketing up the charts. When he is destroying Alex Mack on Sunday, which he will, consider we could have drafted him last year instead of Gilbert. Then compare him to the DT we actually took this in Shelton - you'll see him pushed off the ball 1:1 and leaving gaping holes in the middle.

The Browns make me sad.
--------
Yea we suck but a lot of teams passed on Donald, so glad the steelers passed on him, he was right in they're backyard too.
-------
Don't get me started on that. LOVED Donald as a prospect, didn't see the need for another corner as a priority when we can never rush the passer.
-------
here's the drinking game:

* after every draft you pick a player or two we should have taken with our picks. Only allowed hindsight right at draft time, no three-year revisits

* when that player does the following, you drink (note: assumes Browns draft selection is bust):
a) scores
b) make highlight reel play

* do a shot when they
a) make big play against Browns
b) beat the Browns

* chug a beer when
a) player wins super bowl
b) player makes pro bowl

* chug a bottle of vodka when
a) player makes HoF

Donald was certainly a guy I would have picked over Gilbert. His measurables and impact were off the chart, only knock was his size, but that doesn't seem to be much of a factor now...
--------
or a song

99 blown drafts picks on the wall
--------
If you said, "Hey, Coach Tomlin.... we're gonna let you pick the Browns draft for the next 5 years"

He would (of course) purposely pick lousy players...

and we'd STILL have a better roster than what the jackasses have assembled in the last 16 years.

-------
Donald isn't a fit in 3-4...and he sure as shit isn't a nose tackle.
-------
That was the reasoning for not picking him here, one of my favorite players in that draft. The problem is we aren't a true 3-4 defense we go hybrid alot Donald is strictly 4-3 DT. With our scheme he could have thrived here.

This^ is why I keep saying I want to see Cig's use Gurley like Marshall Faulk was used in the GSOT Days!!(y):D

Not sure I've ever seen a board more in the dumps before they've played us. :snicker:

Blowing out a team, resting players? We can't even win two in a row yet, let's take it easy. Gurley has played two good games and we're talking about Dickerson and the HOF, commanding leads, etc. Let's win two first. That's not negative, just being prudent. We should win this game, but we gotta prove we can win these games we should.

Well, I have been signed on to the Browns Board for a little while and had a Browns fan get chippy with me finally,.....I have been nice and respectful, but just hammered this dude with the truth about how we should win this game

That's odd. I was posting with Browns fans and we were arguing over which team was more likely to lay an egg. And they weren't arguing it was the Rams. ;)

People expected us to beat Oakland and Washington last year. We did.

About time this team lives up to expectations.

Listen to me closely here. There will be no EASY games. This team will have to fight for everything it gets. If we do end up in a several score blowout, it will simply mean we took advantage of what we were given, but there is not one game on our schedule, we will win, in a walk. It's the Fisher way.

Yeah, I don't look at any games and expect a win. There are games where I feel good about our chances and games where I don't. But I've learned to never expect anything out of a Fisher team. I don't expect wins and I don't expect losses. I just watch and cross my fingers.

I'm looking forward to seeing Tre Watts. I love the way that guy runs. I guarantee if he was active against SEA that game doesn't go into over time. We score a TD on that drive Pead fumbled and put the nail in the coffin.

No question RB is the deepest position on the team. Even that Texas RB (Brown?) on the practice squad is a stud, another UDRFA. Snisher knows his RB's. Only Pead was a bust but we shoulda got Wagoner anyway.

"Thanks for your honest opinion. McCown short future. Manziel troubled future? AD we hope your wrong. Living in NC our group of man cave guys would scout for coach Webb at Southwest H.S. We played Todd Gurley twice a year at his H.S. the Tarboro Vikings. Every HS with a track around it was standing room only. Todd was wide up top with nothing below the waist but had ankles that I thought were not attached to his feet. Mix that with his vision you got Barry Sanders. Everybody in the state ofNC wanted Todd in College, Mark Ricks at Ga. did it right with Todd. Everybody knows ACC in known for Basketball not Football. Any kid with a free ride to School in Football all want out of N.C.. It was awesome to see what Ricks & Staff did toGurley under the waist and wala he's a Ram & Enjoy the kid is special & not a "I" kid but always "WE" kid. A great person is bigger than football. As for us in HS we got him to OT once & lost but the NC theme was stack 8 in the box & let Their QB beat ya, And yes Todd had a great one of those too. Todd never lost a NC HS State Championship but damn we tried. Enjoy his ride in the Pros, I will, BUT THIS WEEK SAY IT WITH ME---GO BROWNS!!"
