Joyner was a humble kid last year. Thankful for his chance to be here and playing. If he got to be a hard-ass to deal with chalk another missed chance off to Demoff. He seems to be following a pattern off how to make things difficult for the Rams to sign players long term.
I'll say this....re-signing Joyner shouldn't be a priority...He has 3 interceptions in 4 years.
I still remember his words..."Heck, I'd play for free...." ...I remember saying how people are liars by nature....and I know this was said tongue in cheek....but he's not giving us any discounts. Frankly, I'd be looking to draft his replacement...
All our efforts should be how to fit AD and his massive deal in our salary cap.

I agree, (twice in one week Champ - knock it the F off).
It's Ron Bartell all over again, when, since the corner pool was non-existent, he was sliced bread, got paid, spent one year with Oakland, anothjer with Detroit and then was out of football.

There are no safeties available in FA, Joyner gets a shout out from PFF, and all of a sudden he's a hot commodity.
He' very good, and I like him a lot, but c'mon - he's 5'-8" FFS, and ain't Earl Thomas.
I still think Barron's playing SS next year.

AD's deal needs to get done. Joyner is lower priority. Like Champ said, the Rams have been very good at drafting and developing DBs, so retaining them on high $$ 2nd contracts is not as important as picking your 3-5 core players and locking them up. You can extend good non-core players if they want to play for the Rams and not break the cap. Otherwise goodbye.

I’m surprised that they couldn’t get it done earlier, tbh.

The tag could have been avoided altogether. I mean, Joyner’s value and tag price are so close together.

Why wouldn’t Joyner have been all over an offer of $10-11 million per for 5 years with significant g-jack security? Makes no sense.

Here’s the thing. They either extend him this year or they probably lose him next offseason. And let’s face it. Their record of extending in mid-year hasn’t been a good one lately.

That tag must be used for AD for the next 2-3 years. Unless AD and his pos agent come to their senses.

Extending Joyner should be a high priority.

I'm starting to think agents are telling their players to not sign with their current teams and wait a year to become free agents. Joyner is very good but, undersized. I do wonder about him getting injured. It takes two to tango and Joyner may just want to dance in free agency. Could be the Rams only wanted to commit for 3 years. I agree they resign this year him or he is gone next year. That could be the plan to replace him with a cheaper alternative.

He did find Calvin Johnson...
After how many busts? Pretty soon after so many years it’s almost inevitable no matter how incompetent you are you get one right.

I was at that game
Same here. Lots of Bills fans. I remember being in the very top section. Dane Looker got decked on one play and some asshole was yelling “get that Rams shit off the field!”

I was surprised nobody beat his ass. But people(even other Bills fans), told him to remember what happened to Kevin Everett and that concussions aren’t a joke.

I don’t know if Looker ever played another game for us after that.

Wow, thats right!
Man, those Bills fans were probably the most disrespectful fans I dealt with at the dome.

I met Looker at a golf course a year later. He and Wilkins. Super friendly guys, both built like badass professional athletes... my wife laughed because on tv they were the 2 scrawniest guys on the team..
