Doesn’t seem quite fair to give McVay/Goff such an array of weapons for the O. Gurley, Woods, Watkins, Kupp, Higbee, now Everett and Pharoh with Reynolds waiting in the wings. Geez.

Fingers crossed

We do need more pass rush. It's not as relentless as what we've seen before here.

Unfortunately, I think the key is the lack of edge rush. Quinn, and to some extent, Barwin, are shells of themselves. We see glimpses and flashes, but if we see it, Wade and Sean see it too. This may be the only area the Rams are operating in a Fisher-like way, with loyalty. It hasn't hurt us, yet, but you can just see #94, beanie-clad, watching Matt Longacre and Morgan Fox tearing it up in the near future.

Goff is doing a lot of good things. Seems to be extremely comfortable and is learning fast. I also noticed on a couple of plays we scored, Goff made changes before the snap. That's good to see.

The stadium was not full from the start of the game and near the end it was nearly vacant.

On reddit there are some photos that fans took during the 4th quarter, it's fucking empty.

I mean rain and a blowout will do that, but damn.

And you can tell that Watkins wants to be a part of it.

I think we can get him a little cheaper than he's probably worth. After spending so many years in Buffalo even though he's not lighting it up right now, he should see that this team is on the rise and is going to do great things. We have a QB who can get him the ball and a coach that can scheme him open. With more time he's only going to get better.

I hope he stays.

Tavon had a decent game, Farr.

Hell, who didn’t?

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/gametracker/recap/NFL_20171105_LAR@NYG/

He had 34 yards on 6 rushes.

And one of those rushes was for 21 yards. Meaning he gained just 13 total yards on the other combined 5 rushes.

Total 162 yards rushing for Rams, Tavon’s share was 34. I dunno...

Goff had 302 yards passing with catches by 8 different receivers. None to Tavon, however. No passes thrown after the 3 minute mark left in third quarter.

One last thing. Tavon got extra snaps after McVay pulled his starters for the 4th quarter. Meaning that Tavon got extra opportunities to “pad” his stats. But still he only came up with 34 yards.

I continue to believe that Tavon’s contributions are greatly overrated.

Sigh...

I’m gonna try to avoid the Tavon topic in the future while I root for him to do well.

I looked up the numbers and was actually surprised to see our D in the top 10 in sacks(6th), INT's(4th), and FF's(8th).

And in ppg they're 10th.
I thought that if we could just get above 15th on D, we'd have a shot at the playoffs -- and here we go!
So glad McVay is erasing the losing culture there, and hammering the "one game at a time" mentality. If JF were here they'd all be on vacay this week. He'd coast us out to a 7-9 finish.

I remember at one point early in the game Goff went 0-5 and the game announcers said something like " and thats the Jarod Goff we saw last year"

The NFL better start paying attention. We can stream this to our HD big screens and hang out at home every week.

Agreed. Screens are getting bigger, better, cheaper, and the stadium experience is failing to keep up with the home experience. Another point with the ratings: a lot of people are cutting the cords and just don't have cable anymore. Hell, I've had cable/satellite one year out of the last seven. Services like SlingTV just make DirecTV, Comcast, etc obsolete.

Imagine the Bills with Woods and Watkins this year. They have an excellent defense and a middle of the pack offense. With those two playing alongside McCoy they could be challenging the Patriots for the division.

I like Taylor, he has really taken advantage of the chance he got in Buffalo and has won me over. He's a small QB not the "prototype size" but he plays like he is 8 feet tall.

AO is fast. Like really, really fast for a LB. He could outrun some WR's and RB's and any TE. I recall watching his college highlight vids when the Rams drafted him. He would just appear in the video frame like a rocket to make a tackle or whatever. He was moving fast enough that on some of the plays I was looking and saying "well where is he" then BAM he flies in and hits the ball carrier.

I was a bit critical early in the year, the first few games. Much credit to AO. He's playing great football. Last year he moved to the middle and played so well. This year the scheme changed and within a few games he is playing really well. He's obviously smart and understands the game, he's anticipating as well as he did last year in a completely different defense.

If the Rams can manage to hold on to AD (which I doubt) and Brockers and AO this D will always be at least pretty good.

The 'extra snaps' that Tavon got he was out at Wide Receiver. As you know, we didn't throw the ball once while Mannion was in there.

Tavon is the energy for the entire offense. He is just that. Whether he is in the game or he is on the sideline. The guy is the energy! He's a We Not Me player and that is something to appreciate about him.

Ted Rath is the only guy that I can see with more energy and excitement for the team during game day, and I would bet that McVay assigned that job to Rath.
