Unfortunately, Caleb does remind me a lot of Murray right now. Maybe he will grow up from this season.

Scoring 42 points should win you games - but with Grinch's defense, he needs to scored at minimum 55 points.

USC's offense is zone read and RPO heavy so for Caleb to have success he would have to be on a team that runs that kind of offense.

He wasn't particularly accurate on deep throws and he's a bigtime fumbler as anyone who watched the game saw. There are a lot of things that give an NFL team pause. It's why I think AZ is focused on Maye. I'm not sure he has the maturity for the NFL right now. I think the comparison to him and Kyler is somewhat close, though Kyler has a far better arm with better accuracy. Too many of his throws even the completions were off target.

The announcers were hyping him as another Mahomes, give me a fucking break. He doesn't have Mahome's arm and maturity. The fumbling is a huge red flag for the NFL. He's going to drop in the draft.

He has the following imho:

Strengths:

1) Great arm strength
2) Great scrambling ability
3) Great accuracy from 0 to 30 yards

Not a strength but not a weakness either:

4) Pass accuracy over 30 yards is so so

Weaknesses:

1) Cannot read a defense to save his life and scrambles around until he finds someone open (I wonder if he doesn't watch any or enough film of incoming teams games).
2) Extremely immature and arrogant not in a good way
3) Fumbles easily
4) Might kill himself the way he runs

I think 1 could be taught over time (look at Goff) and 2 (maybe he will grow up as he gets older)

3 & 4 might always be a weakness.

Lincoln Riley promised the Mecca of college football. He's turning it into the Gaza Strip of College Football.

Caleb seems like a great kid and a heck of a talent. I think he's a bit small and I don't like small QBs but he is one of the rare ones who probably has the talent to build around in the NFL.

For all of Williams noted deficiencies, it should be noted, he has a terrible OL and an even worse D. Like league worst type of D. I has to start with the DC (who they just fired) because they seem to have recruited well on defense. I do wonder if there would be so many negatives brought up about Caleb if the defense was just league average and they only had 1 loss and in discussion as a playoff team?

Caleb has rare pocket presence, a good arm, and enough athleticism to run when needed. IMO, he's quite a bit better of a prospect then Maye, but, I could be wearing my homer glasses. Dude cares enough about wins and losses that he gets emotional. There is a lot of guys that could be better players if they had that passion. USC's defense has nearly brought me to tears also.

Even Maye has bad games. Look at the Virginia game who is not a good team at all.

24 - 48 2 TD and 1 Int

I would call that a terrible game just like Caleb's game against Notre Dame and at least Notre Dame is a very good team.
