I thought we shot in the foot ourselves with 4 consecutive lossses.

Four of the lossses against conference teams.

Yesterday Carroll put a dagger in NFC west hopes.

Today Giants twisted the dagger deeper.

It feels the season is done tonight. Very frustrating.

I'm not exactly on the edge of my seat with the playoffs this season. Has any team in history ever made the playoffs with the 32nd ranked offense?

Any team can lose games in a row. We are only a 1 ½ games behind the 6th wildcard. Slim chances to win the divison. We are 2 ½ games behind the Seahawks but we do still play them again.

having losses to the lions, panthers, and giants really hurts our chances when it comes to tiebreakers, but the lions very well may win the north, the panthers still got a journey to be a real threat to make the playoffs, and the giants are in a tight race with the other nfc east teams and tying one of them for 2nd in the east could help eliminate the giants so the rams dont need to worry about that tiebreaker. either way, rams need to play a whole hell of a lot better if they want to make the playoffs

After our last loss to the Giants I knew the playoffs were not going to happen. Fisher has F'D this season trying to secure a job longer than going for W's.

Surprised it's taking people this long to realize we are toast.

Pretty sure they were saying the same thing in Kansas City starting 0-5 last year.

Now, I agree it's a very-very slim chance... from a record standpoint but also a performance standpoint (this team isn't playing playoff quality football). But to declare it as fact? Its just not true.

Big negative factor(s) are that Seattle is far and away better than they were the first meeting...Add to that the fact it's in Seattle next time doesn't bode well...They beat a very good Cheatriot team in NE..Again, the odds are long that the Rams would do the same thing..That leaves running the table which still might well not be enough...I never say never, but the odds are very long indeed...

Well, you can't win them all without a win against Miami so let's just do that for a start. Then, you can look around the league and see what everybody else did.

I wouldn't think so. The worst offense I've seen a team win with was the 1999 Bucs. 27th in points and 28th in yards (of 31 teams).

They were over last week. Seattle is too consistent to lose the division and there are too many teams ahead of the Rams they would have to jump over to win a WC. Time for Goff...every week Fisher believes they are contenting, is one more week Goff is not deveolping for 17' and beyond

I wonder what the lowest ranked offense to make the playoffs actually was
In scoring lowest ranked last 10 seasons
2015 Houston 21st
2014 Arizona 24th
2013 Carolina 18th
2012 Colts 18th
2011 Broncos 25th
2010 Seahawks 23rd
2009 Bengals 22nd
2008 Dolphins 21st
2007 Tampa Bay 18th
2006 NY Jets 18th
Of note
2000 Baltimore Ravens with Trent Dilfer/Tony Banks 14th
2002 Tampa Bay "winning with defense" 18th

So the lowest ranked was 25th in scoring which is currently Baltimore who is scoring at 20.2 per game. The Rams are at 15.4. So for the Rams to "over take" 25th spot (Assuming all things remain the same) they would have to average 26.5 ppg just to raise their average to 20.3...

The 4 game losing streak in winnable games was the backbreaker for our playoff chances.

Ironically, we've beaten the 2 teams ahead of us in our division.

Honestly, with even a decent (top 16) O, we could be sitting here today with 7-8 wins and in the hunt with the Cowboys for HFA throughout the playoffs. Let that sink in, fellas.

Yet here we are facing the necessity of winning 6-7 of our remaining 7 games to maybe get a wildcard spot. And I do mean maybe.

Chaps my hide, frankly.

Anyone still wonder why I'm so disgusted with Fisher? Arrrrrgh!

The dagger came before the season ever started. It was a two pronged dagger.

The first prong is when Jeff Fisher decided hat he was going to hand Keenum the QB job without any meaningful competition despite saying we were a QB away and despite giving up six premium picks to move up and get Jard Goff. The damage was and continues to be compounded by Fisher's absolute refusal to hold Keenum the least bit accountable for his play on the field. He put all his eggs into the basket of getting Keenum ready for the season, and has given virtually no priority to getting Jared Goff ready to take over this team and become the franchise QB he was drafted to be. And now, while rookie QB's around the league are playing and having at least some success while getting important reps and developing for the future, Fisher stubbornly sticks to Keenum while our offense scrapes the bottom of the barrel in productivity, both in yards and points. If Jared isn't ready for any real game action at this point, that is totally, completely, unequivocally on Fisher. And if he's not, then the least he could do is give Mannion a shot, as Sean knows the offense probably as good as Keenum and definitely has a better arm.

The second was whatever was done to precipitate the decline of our run game - the one saving grace our offense had last year. I don't know what they did to the blocking scheme, but they did something and now we have on that clearly does not play to the strengths of the players we have on the roster. That's probably part Boras, part Boudreau. But at the end of the day, Boras is the OC overall and the running game coordinator as well, and our running game is atrocious. This despite having last year's rookie of the year as the primary ballcarrier. Gurley is not without fault (and I'm really wondering if the weight loss might not have hurt him), but the primary responsibility hear is on the coaches because they are the ones who have decided that it's better for guys like GRob and Saffold to do cut-blocking rather than using their best physical asset - their strength - in the run game.

It all adds up to an offense that is even worse than last year and another season is circling the drain.

It is just true. Don't give me that Dumb and Dumber line man! lol
We are already f'd because we have to run the rest of the year ( which isn't bad with 3 division games) but we all know how we play like total shit out the division. I'll be surprised if we make 7-9 tbh.( okay maybe 8-8)

the excellent reply by @dieterbrock should answer this...And I thought Tampa and the Ravens teams had pretty bad offenses....

We trail NY, Detroit, and.....who else?? Seems to be a bunch of 3 and 4 loss teams in contention that we've lost too...and we trail Seattle & Az...I'm a betting man..hell, I already bet that we'd win the division....Not sure how we can grab a wildcard after losing 4 winnable games...2 at home...

Well technically it was a 1-5 start but its a fair point in the fact that miracle seasons do manifest from time to time. It proves to be a historical anomaly, but like the 99 Rams, you cant say never...

I doubt they make the playoffs this year but everyone in the nfc east plays each other again and that will change things around . This week will decide if there is still a chance or if we start looking forward to next year

Has any team that relocated made the playoffs that year?

1996 Houston Oilers 8-8 1997 Tennessee Oilers 8-8 no playoffs

1995 Cleveland Browns 5-11 1996 Baltimore Ravens 4-12 no playoffs

1994 Los Angeles Rams 4-12 1995 St. Louis Rams 7-9 no playoffs

1994 LA Raiders 9-7 1995 Oakland Raiders 8-8 no playoffs

1987 St. Louis Cardinals 7-8 (strike year 15 games) 1988 Phoenix Cardinals 7-9 no playoffs

1983 Baltimore Colts 7-9 1984 Indianapolis Colts 4-12 no playoffs

1981 Oakland Raiders 7-9 1982 LA Raiders 8-1 (strike year 9 games) made playoffs; lost 1st round

1959 Chicago Cardinals 2-10 1960 St. Louis Cardinals 6-5-1 no playoffs

1945 Cleveland Rams 9-1 1946 Los Angeles Rams 6-4-1 no playoffs

Any further back is not consequential

Only one team made the playoffs after relocating, the 1982 LA Raiders in a 9 game strike year.

Just for perspective.......
