My wife bought us tickets for 49ers on New Years Eve!!!

What an awesome babe:yay:

We are not too old to have a good time, but not in our 30’s anymore.

Where to stay?

Transportation?

Her first time in LA

What do we need to see?

Trip is shaping up-
First, this will be the Rams second throwback game so we will see the awesome '70's/'80's uni's.

I had hotel points so we're staying in Marina Del Rey. Looks like a couple blocks from the marina.

Reserved a rental car to drive the PCH.

Get in on Friday the 29th, so we'll have some explore time.

I guess we could see the Rose Parade before we head home.

Anybody know of a traditional New Year's Eve party or NYE activity in Marina Del Rey-Santa Monica area?

Also, recommend a nice steak place in that area? Like a Ruth's Chris or similar?

Happy New Year Rams!

When traveling PCH be sure to pay attention to the current fire reports in the Santa Barbara area (hopefully long gone before you arrive) and the huge rock slides south of Big Sur. As for New Years, stick close to the hotel as cops will be out in full looking for those drinking & driving. Here's two close events :

Steak Houses :

Be sure to book reservations early.

@A.J. Hicks I stayed at an airbnb in west hollywood I think. I was out most of the day so just needed a place to sleep. I think you can get a decent place for 70-80 a night. It was good bc the person had a street parking permit for us while staying too.

Oh and I did almost the same exact thing as you. I traveled for 4 nights and 5 days. 2 nights in LA and 2 nights in Vegas. I did a groupon on Vegas at Treasure Island. It's a nice alternative to very expensive ones and it's in very good location on the strip. I flew to LA from SF and then rented a car and then drove to Vegas. The drive is not bad unless you have an accident. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Especially if you are traveling with your +1. I drove back to LA to fly back to SF.

Got in Friday

Great location in Marina Del Rey.

Did the tourist stuff Friday night .....Chinese Theater and Mulholland Drive.

Yesterday, big breakfast at IHOP and then on the PCH up to Point Mugu.

Turned back to go see the Hollywood sign.

Nice dinner at Ruth’s Chris. Recommend the Penfold’s Bin 389 Shiraz Cab blend; its an awesome red.

Getting ready for the game now.

See you soon boys!

Well, I wish that the Rams had won but this was kind of a bucket list thing for me.

I’ve flown to LAX a couple times but not spent any time here since I was a toddler in 1961.

My earliest memories of the Rams were in the Coliseum and now I’ve been there.

I stood with other Rams fans and yelled “Go Rams” and “C’mon Defense” in LA.

It means something to me and I’ll have this and my other experiences this weekend to savor.

Damn, those uniforms are beautiful on grass in the sunshine!
