TRANSCRIPT: Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher, 7-31-12

Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher – Training Camp – July 31, 2012

(On calling the team together during the latter end of practice)
“Typically, over time we’ve come to realize that the third day there’s an increased pull history so we intended on just kind of taking a moment and getting stretched out so we didn’t have any fatigue issues and fatigue pulls in the weather.”

(On how practices have changed over the years working in the heat)
“Yeah, we’re much more aware. We’re an air-conditioned society now. In the old days we weren’t. We spent summertime outside. Remember when you got in trouble, some of the older ones, when we got in trouble mom said, ‘Go to your room,’ you know? They say that now, you go to your room and you go ‘Yeah cool, we got all kinds of stuff to do in the room,’ you know? So, moms need to say go outside, I guess. But we’re very much aware of it. We’re weighing players in before and after each practice to make sure that they’re replacing the fluids in their weight, and so that was an outstanding effort today. That was not easy. We had one neutral zone violation on defense in this heat, which is pretty impressive.”

102 degrees..my farmers tan is looking good

general observations

Dahl's back with 1's
Justin Cole got significant time with the 1's over Haggan..word about Cole..a de/rush lber at San Jose St similar to Sammy Brown as a player...nice height/size...just surprising he's ahead of McIntosh, etal
Aaron Brown is a dead ringer for Pisa(good and bad) as a player
Matt Daniels looks to bringing up the rear on the depth chart..even Quinton Pointer and Rodney McCleod get more snaps
Cudjo and Conrath are the 2nd team dt's..Laws is 3rd with Scott barely visible
Tripucka has some major velocity in his snaps and looks larger then McQuaide...
finally saw Hekker punt...had a few shanks but lot of wow punts..
speaking of wows..even money Zurlein breaks the record for longest fg in the NFL before he through..makes 60 looks easy..comes off his foot like a mortar shot with zero chance of being blocked..comes off straight up then just keeps going up and up and up
new nickname for J Jenkins is bpot(best player on team)
Bradford looks great..
