Watch McShay Break Down His Top 10 Mock Draft Picks

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- ESPN NFL draft analyst Todd McShay has been pretty consistent in sending a wide receiver to the St. Louis Rams with the No. 10 overall pick in his mock drafts.

In fact, when McShay released his fifth mock draft Insider on Wednesday, he sent a wideout to St. Louis for the fourth consecutive mock. And in some ways, McShay's selection for the Rams came full circle. This time around, he selected West Virginia's Kevin White, as he did during his second mock draft Insider in early February.

After that second mock, though, McShay sent Alabama's Amari Cooper to St. Louis and followed by going with Louisville's DeVante Parker in version 4.0. Regardless of which player it is, it's clear McShay is a big believer in the Rams landing a potential No. 1 wide receiver.

It's hard to argue with that logic considering the lack of production the Rams got from the receiver group in 2014. Of course, that unit hasn't exactly been blessed with good or consistent quarterback play in recent seasons, either. Still, if White were to somehow slip to No. 10, the Rams would and should give him some long consideration.

For what it's worth, White paid a pre-draft visit to St. Louis earlier this week and is cut from the mold of a No. 1 type of wideout the team has long been lacking. His speed, size and ability to win contested balls would probably make White the most talented receiver on the roster immediately. And while White would almost certainly get a long look if he fell to 10, the Rams also are believed to have strong interest in Cooper and Parker.

Still, if you fall in the camp that believes that coach Jeff Fisher might not want to use a top 10 pick on a wideout for the second time in three years, it's an understandable line of thinking. This is an offense that doesn't feature the passing game and though a top receiver would be nice, there's no denying that the greater need comes on the offensive line.

But despite the more pressing need on the offensive line, if a player like White or Cooper slips to the 10th spot, the value might be too good to pass up in favor of an offensive lineman who probably wouldn't meet that same value. Still, it seems unlikely that White or Cooper lasts to the 10th spot but if they do, there's no reason the Rams shouldn't give them strong consideration.

I really like the idea of grabbing an elite #1 WR, BUT! I am, with-out-a-Doubt, 110%, CONVINCED that NOTHING ELSE matters if our O-Line isn't fixed first!!
