Analytics is where it's at and PFF is very similar to what many teams including our own franchise ( one of the first) grade players, teams, FA's, and college prospects. Like it or not, it's here to stay.

PFF, however, is pretty much the fantasy football version of an actual analytics department of a pro team. They publish analytic "scores" without any way for the reader to verify or evaluate the identity of the analysts, their qualifications, their methodology, or their thoroughness. Without this information, there's no reason to trust the numbers they assign to their largely subjective observations (which, as we've all seen, can be extremely counter-intuitive).

I find more objective measures ("advanced stats," for example) more interesting.

I've played every rendition of Madden back to the 90s...they have a tendency to underrate the Rams but that's no different than most in the media.

It's really cool that with social media players are interacting and discussing their Madden ratings.

Oh and AD being 99 overall a record 7 times? It would certainly be another thing on his GOAT resume...and that kind of thing is about as relevant as fans discussing how good a player really is

I don't know a single NFL HC that trusts PFF. PFF is meant for lazy media hacks that really don't know NFL football and for fantasy footballers. Their evaluations are worse than simply flipping a coin. A player is often devalued because of the scheme he plays in not really on his actual performance. Also, QBs and RBs are marked down because of the OL they play behind is trash. Conversely, the reverse is true if the OL is great but QBs and RBs who are average look better than they are.

The NFL is a team sport and as such any single individual player's performance is heavily dependent upon the team and coaches around him. PFF is showing they still don't get it.

Electric football: had that game and used to play that pretty much in the late 70s. I had Rams home and away and 3 other teams. I wasn't impressed by the factory painting of the Ram horns, they looked half-ass and incomplete, so I painted my own.

I think I told this story here before, but on one saturday I brought my "away Rams" over to a neighbor's house to play his "home Raiders." What he had somehow done was glopped on extra glue or something heavier onto his men (under the black and silver paint). They were bigger than normal and their bodies looked kinda blobbish, and he would just run through my (normal) undersized defense. My turn on offense and I ran into a moving wall. I'm sure my RB spun around and ran the wrong way at least once! Wasn't even fair, I called him on it but we played anyway. He scored on his first 3 possessions just running over everyone and I had enough!

I quite like some changes.

I'm stoked to be able to watch all the Rams Sunday games via YouTubeTV/Sunday Ticket.
I love being able to look up stats with a simple Google search.
I'm a big fan of how the NFL Draft has become an event to bridge the gap between seasons.
I very much like being able to order Rams products on-line, rather than hoping my local Champs of Foot Locker might carry a product or two.
And, as should be apparent, I like being able to log on and discuss Rams football with fans around the world.

Those are all things that have changed since my younger days that I truly appreciate.

Madden ratings, though? Meh. Silly.
