So Wednesday night I put my phone in my coat pocket, forgot it was in there, put my coat on a little to vigorously later on, and my phone goes flying across the room, I pick it up and I think 20 cracks is a fair estimate of the damage.

I go to the Apple shop today for their drop in repair service, get told in the queue that it's going to cost £80, I think "Ah well that's the cost of stupidity, I can't use it like this anyway"

The guy looks at it, reaffirms the £80 cost, takes it into the back to see how long it will take, comes back out and tells me that because the phone has a bend in it they'll need to replace the entire thing, for a cost of £220, at which point I'm considering walking out, they say that instead of charging the full £220 they'll do it for the £80 original quoted, which is fine.

The guy goes to ring it up, and says that because he originally did it as a screen replacement, then over rode it with a new hand set he couldn't go back and give me the £80 price, so instead he'll give me the handset for free. I effectively jog out before they can change their minds and charge me the full £220. Thanks Apple :D.

Tl;dr I went from expecting to pay £80 and waiting around 4 hours for a new screen to paying £0 and waiting 5 minutes for a new phone.

I had a $675 credit at local siding distributor so at the end of the year I ordered some new staging, and picked it all up yesterday

got 2 new 24' aluminum poles and pump jacks, along with a new 16' staging plank

alum-a-pole_2.jpg

now have 4 24' poles, 4 18'poles, 2 24' staging planks and 2 16' staging planks.... enough to set up staging on 2 houses at the same time

next up will be a new table saw when I build up enough credit again

I completely blanked and forgot to show off the results of my rattlecan job for my rifle.

Much better than the original look (not my picture, because I hated the color, so I grabbed this off Google):

I hate the ACU pattern, why anyone would put it on a gun is beyond me.

so as some of you know, I have a condo in Naples Florida that was shared with my brother and sister. Well my brother decided he wanted out of the 3 way ownership, so I have just paid him off for half of his share, and my sister buying the other half.

So this will probable be the last thing I buy for awhile, until I start making money on it.

Here's a pic of the pool there

This stupid faucet from Costco to replace the previous one that was leaking. No pressure and the sprayer is a quick release. Wife hates it.

explorer door handle.jpg

$205.00 door handle to my explorer that with my massive arnold physique, managed to break during an ice storm 2 weeks ago. plus $203 for the door sensor that kept my door ajar light on (as well as my dome light) even though the doors were not ajar. i thought i was being a smartass when i said "i bet that'll cost about $400 to fix."
