The Good:
-We won
-We beat the Whiners in their shiny new stadium
-Our nasty pass rush has returned
-Krapper got beat up and only rushed for 14 yds
-Tre Mason runs as hard as any of our other backs, but the difference is he's faster and can change direction
-Rams capitalized on a forced turnover by turning it into a TD
-The team as a whole showed some resiliency on the road in a hostile environment
-We're 2-1 in the division and now 2-2 on the road
-Zuerlein made a BIG 4th qtr FG
-SF was 3 for 12 on 3rd down conversions

The Bad:
-Davis continues to make crucial mistakes and served up SF's only TD
-Another blown coverage results in an easy TD
-Tru Johnson was rusty and picked on at the end of the game

The Ugly:
-Rams last offensive possession. 3rd and 1 at midfield. SF has only 1 timeout left. 3:23 to go in regulation so they(SF) have the 2 min warning also. You're up by 3 points. RUN THE BALL there. Horrible playcall to try to gain a first down with a pass play that stops the clock.

As far as The Ugly...

If I remember the receiver correctly,,, Somebody,,, I believe it was Kendricks, was wide the fuck open for an easy TD on that play. It would have ended the game if executed.

Doesn't matter to me. You have to play the percentages there. You need to put your defense in the best possible position you can. Even if we don't convert a run there...SF is either forced to use a TO(their last) or they start a possession with significantly less time on the clock to go the full length of the field.

Yup (he) was wide open, BUT Davis was already running for his life as I recall.

It's not like it was 3rd and 5 or 3rd and 7 either. If you're going to try to go for the throat there then run play action or run Davis on a 1 yard bootleg. Horrible playcall. Glad it didn't matter.

If Davis hits Kendricks - it would have been 7 pts - and would have been in the 'good' column.

My ugly would be the prevent defense at the end of the half and the end of the game. Can we not just rip those pages out of the defensive playbook?

There was nobody within 20 yards of him. Davis had time to Rainbow a pass in there, didn't have to be pinpoint, but he bailed. Great call. Horrible execution from the oline and qb.

this..if AD put a little air under it it would have put 6 on the board..if Davis had the time

looked to me like SF had their "big" package in to stop the run

IMO Davis should have killed the play call and ,like was previously mentioned, run a bootleg or a toss sweep

I wouldn't say our pass rush has returned, the Niners offensive line is riddled with injuries. I think the announcers said they changed the line up 5 times during the game? If we can play like that a couple more games then I think it would be safe to say our D is coming together.

Also for your Good list...

We managed to overcome two horrible calls each of which cost us a TD. One for J Lau and one for Tavon.

In the recent past those would have been the kiss of death.

But not yesterday.

We went to the Wells one too many times at center.
