Packers fear broken collarbone for Aaron Rodgers

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/10/15/packers-fear-broken-collarbone-for-aaron-rodgers/

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers left the game in the first quarter with a right shoulder injury and the first report about the severity isn’t a good one for Green Bay.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports that the Packers fear Rodgers broke his collarbone when he was taken down by Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr after throwing an incomplete pass. Rodgers was on the move at the time, which Mike Pereira of FOX Sports said was the reason why no flag was thrown on the play.

ouch! That is such a painful injury. But definitely better than injuring a shoulder that could linger. I see that actually as a good news.

Only a matter of time before offensive players without the ball will be forced to have their hands behind their back and only be allowed to "screen" a defender pursuing the ball. That Treadwell block on the Packer player was a bad call.

To think, we were just praising Reynolds for almost the same block that looked much more physical.

Wow, Chicago....twice in a row the snap gets past Trubisky into their own end zone, they get away with it.

Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr delivered the biggest hit of Sunday’s game against the Packers, but another hit has left him unavailable for the rest of the afternoon.

Barr has been ruled out for the rest of the game with a concussion he suffered at some point in the second quarter of Sunday’s game.

Whenever the injury occurred, it was well after Barr drove Aaron Rodgers to the turf in the first quarter. Rodgers went right to the sideline and then to the locker room with what the Packers reportedly fear is a broken collarbone.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy wouldn’t comment on the extent of the injury at halftime, but did confirm that Rodgers is out for the game.

Barr was not penalized for the hit, which came just after Rodgers delivered an incomplete pass while outside the pocket and on the run. Barr was later penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct after an Xavier Rhodes interception.

Kenny Britt inactive, partly for ineffectiveness

The Browns are playing without wide receiver Kenny Britt for a second consecutive week. He missed last week mostly for groin and knee injuries.

But this week, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Browns made Britt inactive for ineffectiveness as much as for his injuries. The Browns listed him as questionable Friday.

Britt has only eight catches for 121 yards and a touchdown in four games.

Ricardo Louis started in Britt’s place opposite Rashard Higgins. The Browns also want to see Bryce Treggs, who made his Cleveland debut last week just days after being signed off the Patriots’ practice squad.

“We need to get the best version of Kenny Britt,” coach Hue Jackson said Friday, via Cabot. “That’s what’s important. If there is anything that I think is not right, then obviously, I would hold him.”

Hey, remember when the Vikings were calling us a dirty team because of Bridgewater's suspicious concussion ?

If you are talking about the hit on Rodgers, it was a clean hit

I'm surprised this injury doesn't happen more often. Clavicle is thin and very breakable...

90 yard pick 6 by the Bears with five minutes left. Real impressive runback.
