I have no idea what his SC was all about ... or his tweet. But first thing I saw when I signed on today was the two guys from NWSU they brought in and thought about some other moves they have made this off season. Guys .... his days are numbered. For whatever reason. SM and LS are filling the roster with guys who make Tayvon obsolete with this team. I'm not saying he doesn't make it as a Ram this season, but unless he balls out big time, I see this team moving on. they are signing too many guys who fill the WR/RB/KR model. Adding actual WR's and athletic TE's, RB's that can do multiple things .... it is just adding up.

Honestly Without this "whatever" snapchat I'm ready to move on. He's a JAG and mainly a PR imho
Until he becomes a "legit" route runner he's wasting a starting spot in my eyes

You might be onto something. I honestly don't see Tavon taking things seriously either when it comes down to work ethics. I don't know prove me wrong...

Probably, but if Austin is to Jamison Crowder as Everett is supposed to be to Jordan Reed, we may have to rethink that, still ... Tavon would have to renegotiate that contract to remain viable imo. He has one season to prove himself, otherwise, ...

If you think about his development w/ regards to "route running" he has yet to improve this skill set if you ask me!!! Not hating but as a WR your route running is kinda important I been lead to believe. Just my 2 cents

I have a question..

WHAT THE HELL IS ALL OF THE TAVON HATE ABOUT?!?

Never in all of my memory as Rams fan has a player been held to higher standards and lower estimation.

Tavon is lazy now?

WTF???
Has he not been coached by the same terrible coaches as the rest of our guys?
Does he not cause fits for opposing DCs who don't scheme against him?
Is he not Goddamn electric with the ball in his hands?
Does he not do so great job as RB and PR?
Does he not block his little ass off when given the chance?

Jesus some of you are worse than my wife's friends who get together like a bunch of hens and just talk shit about others..

Maybe he doesn't fit McVay's offense.
Maybe he was over paid and over drafted.

Tavon Austin hasnt been the problem. He is just another victim, and one of the few weapons good enough to find the endzone on his own, since the team around him has been of no help...

Honestly simmer down your rant about us being concerned about his production on the field, is as bad as that crap on todays social media...He gets a chance to prove his skills, but he shouldn't be given a free pass because he is Tavon Austin.

Nobody is giving him a free pass.

But giving him a fair shake seems reasonable..

Simmer down?
"My mother told me to simmer down once.
Once."

I get some of the concern about him not being a true #1 WR and being drafted too high.
But those are not reasons for anyone to wish him off the team or to act as if Tavon is a lazy underachiever.

I hope TA is ok. I hope it's just a flippant comment - or a comment referring to his post-training pain. That's a good thing.

On a side note, it's not TA's fault that he has a huge contract. It's not TA's fault that he's had to deal with ever changing QBs. It's not TA's fault that we haven't had an decent O system in years.

The guy is still a threat on this team.

For all doubters, go back and watch the Colts game a few years back ;)

So now we are questioning Tavons work ethic??? Everything I know about that kid (and I have been following him since his HS days at Dunbar) contradicts that assessment. As far as his route running. Have the coaches said anything about his route running? If so I haven't heard it. There certainly is a lot of criticism of the guy, and most of it is unwarranted. Get over the salary people. The guy plays multiple roles on this team and has shown the ability to absolutely take over a game. I suspect the haters will hate on, but I love me some Tavon and will continue to enjoy watching him every time he touches the ball....

He drops too many passes. Simple as that.

I don't care what scheme is ran...who's throwing the ball...or what's the score....he's got to catch the ball better....and with all the chances/targets, he's proven he's more RB than WR...I don't hate him....I just would like a better option at wr...hell better punt returner too.

He's an awesome RB tho.....

He can be the next Dante Hall for this team, he has sure hands on kickoffs. The pass drops are a concern, and a hit and miss, good gadget player indeed with a better OL this should allow him to get around the outside using his speed. I don't know why most of these people are saying we want him to fail, only person who can want TA to fail is TA, no one else is responsible for any of his short-comings. If he WOWs this season awesome, I just want to see W's on this WE not ME team.

Look, I don't hate Tavon.

But I do think he's our most overrated (and overpaid) Ram. That's not hate, man, that's just honesty.

Some should take off their homer hats for a minute and consider his stats.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/15786/tavon-austin

He's a gadget player.

His WR numbers are mediocre.

He's in the bottom third of the league as a PR, and that's not even considering some of his PR questionable decisions.

As a RB, his numbers are declining. He's not the "surprise" that he was back when he first came into the league.

Kindest thing I can say about his game is that, as a WR, he's a helluva RB.

Tell you the truth, I still can't understand that big contract extension. Fisher wouldn't recognize WR value if it bit him in the ankle.

We're stuck with Tavon for this year. Yeah, I said it. But I'll also say this. I predict that Tavon will have to fight like hell to get his snaps this year. And barring a coaching miracle, he will lose that fight to other and more effective WR's now on this roster.

It might be honesty that you think he is over rated.
But it doesn't make it true.

Who is he over rated by?
Certainly not us. Certainly not the media. Over rated??

The guy IS a playmaker. He IS dangerous with the ball in his hands.
That is what he was supposed to be.
I don't ever remember anyone EVER suggesting that Tavon would be a great traditional WR.
He was drafted to be a weapon in a variety of ways.
He has been that, has he not?
Remember his rushing and PR skills in college? Those were part of the package to begin with. Has he disappointed there?
He is supposedly a slow learner, despite starting out of the gate as a rookie... I don't remember him struggling early with the mental part of the game, like his draft counterpart Cordarelle Patterson.

Do you really think that if the Rams had even a semi-functional offense around him, he wouldn't be seen in a different light?

If some people were looking at Tavon Austin to be a great traditional WR, that's their mistake, not his.

As for what he is paid? Yes he is over paid. It's the NFL. Everyone not named Aaron Donald is over paid.
Tavon didn't hold the Rams hostage and it's not our money, so while the contract might not be ideal, it's certainly not a reason to rip the player.
Take that up with Kevin Demoff.

...hell better punt returner too.
....

Who? Somebody who can change games with PR TDs while simultaneously making sure the other 10 guys on the field don't blow it with some phantom penalty?

On any decent team that sniffs the playoffs, Tavon would be considered one of (if not the most) dangerous returners in the league.
