My dad and I were chatting about the upcoming season and he asked me, "So who do you think the name is this year that you go, 'they cut him?"...

Well, I was racking my brain and just couldn't come up with anyone last night. But now as I really think about it I think there is a slim chance that Chris Givens may be that guy. Maybe it doesn't happen right out of the gate...but perhaps he could gone once Bailey is back. Or maybe they try to deal him to another team.

Anyway...who do you think might be that "surprise" cut?

I think someone has to step up and take it from Chris. It's his roster spot to lose.

I really can't think of anyone else that would be a suprise.... Pead, maybe.

I'd think the big names would be likely to be traded - even for a low future pick - than just cut. Especially Givens - who showed his rookie season that he could be a real deep threat. We know how Snead is more than willing to take future value, even a couple years down the line.

I don't think we're the type of team that will issue a "surprise" cut. Most of those types are aging guys who are still being paid like they are at their peak.

Like some have said, Pead could be a potential guy to be cut if Reynolds ST contributions demand it, but this is a team that has drafted two backs in the past two seasons, and Cunningham has contributed well as an UDFA, so I dunno how much cutting a dude at the position where you usually only keep 4 is much of a surprise.

I doubt Givens gets the axe, there doesn't seem to be any WRs further down the depth chart who seem to be able to replace him in a 5 to 6 man corps.

IMO there will be no surprises...Pettis could be a shocker and they will only cut Pead if he does something stupid, however, he's too valuable now on special teams and in pass protection.

My shocker is that Tre Mason won't see much of the field this year because of the emergence of Benny Cunningham.

Can I come back to this around 6:30 PST? After the first half, I'll have an answer....Leading right now would be Wells...

I wouldnt be surprised if they cut Pead..not one bit

I would be surprised if they cut Bam Bam Cunningham, Pettis or Quick

I would be shocked if they cut Ogletree, Quinn or Bradford
